We wished we could have more time [before my husband's life support was turned off] but we were given deadline [by the government HOTA team] until 25 Dec only.

As for the organ donation, since he is a PR and did not opt out for HOTA, he had to donate his organ. We were against the idea as we wanted him to pass away naturally, meaning the heart stop by itself.

But the HOTA staff did not allow us to do so, they kept on pressuring us to take off his life support. We begged repeatedly but they refuse to listen to our pleas. In the end, we got the HOTA co-ordinator in charge into trouble too as he took pity on us.

We think that since the way my husband passed away is too inhuman, we wanted to let him go in peace and in one piece.. but .. law is law, there is nothing much I can do to against the law..

...前阵子和一位部长吃饭，向他提起不少老人感觉被边缘化，他竟睁大眼睛问“哪有”？" - 洪艺菁, 联合早报 2007-03-24 之《老人非得“有用”？》

洪艺菁的言论最有可读性。（她是初生之犊不畏虎）？那些早报“元老”如严孟达，蔡深江，林义明应该和她多多学习，少写些令人作呕的作品！

严孟达多数时候还拿捏得ok。蔡深江较逊些，但通常也可读。至于那白士德和林义明，就无可救药了！

他们那厚颜无耻，阿谀谄媚的言论，简直就不堪入目，令电池人全身起鸡皮疙瘩！不过这种会舔痣的，往往爬得比较快。就像以前那个陈怀亮。呵呵！

洪艺菁的下一句话是： “幸好不是每位部长都有这种想法。”

奇怪，她如何知道？

噢，在这迷幻小岛，说话必须战战兢兢，无论如何也得来个“平衡”，免得开罪主子，砸了饭碗！多可悲！

就连发表观点，也得“借用”别人的嘴巴，以免惹祸上身：

So, 4th Jun 2007's Zaobao reported that Matthais Yao's South East CDC gave a 52 years old single-parent mother $200 because she did not even have enough money to buy the long pants and shoes that were required of the food court cashier job (which the CDC found for her). Some months later, the woman "returned" Matthais Yao the $200 personally.

The first thing that came to my mind was of course how the CDC had wasted no time in calling the reporters to write about it! (Com'on, don't tell me it's the woman who called the newspaper instead?)

But my lasting impression is on the attitude of the woman and her 25 years old daugher:

'...原本女儿对于她接受社理会的帮忙很不高兴，经陈如意解释后也慢慢接受了。'

Why is the daughter not happy with the mom asking for help from the CDC? What is there to be ashamed of? Social welfare is our rights, not a privilege bestowed on us by some gods in white! That's why we pay tax during our good times. It's so that when times are bad, we get welfare!

'如今找到了工作，家境改善了，陈如意非常感激社理会的援助，决定把钱还给社理会。她心存感激地说：“要向社理会拿钱，我实在不好意思。既然有花红，尽管手头还是有点紧，我还是决定把200元还给社理会，希望能帮助其他人。”'

Why is she embarrassed? Why is she so full of gratitude? Why is it that even though her money situation is still tight, she wants to "return" the money so that the CDC can help others with this $200?!?!? The CDC did no charity at all! It is a contract between citizens and goverment: I pay you tax, you go invest it, so that when I, or my fellow citizens need money, you distribute MY money back to me/them!

'陈如意是在议员姚智接见居民时，亲自把钱还给他。姚智也是社理会东南区市长。陈如意说：“姚智跟我说，这笔钱不必还的，但钱不是我的，所以坚持把钱还给他。”...'

Why did she say that the money is not hers, and therefore she must return it?

The money is of course hers!

She has paid her tax (even if "only" in the form of GST).

Her husband had paid his tax before his death. (the high HDB price is a form of tax).

Her daughter has paid her tax, and most importantly,

Her son (now in prison) has paid a lot of tax!!! Serving NS for nearly free is already paying high tax! If not for this young man, SAF would have to pay $X to employ a driver/cook/whatever, and now they pay him only $Y, then $X-$Y is the high tax he paid for 2 years!

And with all these tax paid, she is entitled to some welfare when she needs it.

So, what is there to be so grateful about?

But, alas, not only is she grateful, I further speculate that maybe she is so grateful that she will vote for Matthias Yao (again?) in the next election.

Responsibility of a government to provide (some) welfare!

Just which part of these 3 things does she not understand?

Everytime I read about such news, I tell myself:

F*** it!
This Matrix Island is hopeless!
No change is possiible with these submissive peasants!

More importantly, it is not a matter of possibility, but of necessity: No change is necessary for these submissive peasants! Why would we, who have taken red pills, want to change the life of these submissive peasants who pop blue pills everyday?

I mean, just look at how absurd the whole situation is: These people don't find any problem with their Matrix Masters. We go in, agitate the water, stir some shit, open their mind. So then they become very dissatisfied with the situation. And then, having made them unhappy, we help them fight the matrix master so that they can become happy again!

Why don't we just leave them in their happy dream world right from the start?

At times like this, I look back at what I have written. and tell myself that I make much more sense when I write like that! So I want to say:

Give up, Neo!

Give up, Trinity!

And you too, Morpheus!

No point at all!

They don't deserve your sacrifices!

You all are liberated. The world is your osyter. Now go!

Leave those who are not ready behind. They are happier in the Matrix!

(But I am not saying that you should abandon human batteries forever. The one who should leave permanently are the Matrix Master and his Machines, not you. But bid your time. The Matrix Master is not going to be around forever. When the situation is right, we will take back our little Island)

First, he ordered mee siam mai hum!

Now he ordered 40 sticks of satay!

Just what is his problem?

Let's count!

First, did he have any sense of proportion as to how much satay his stomach could accomodate (taking into account the ketaput and cucumber and onion)?

Probably not.

Maybe that's why he ordered 40, thinking that any less would constitute an unreasonable "gastronomic sacrifice" that no stomach should be expected to make, just because it's the stomach of a politician!

Really is yao gui + tam jia!

And that's problem number 1.

If this human battery were to be the one eating satay, he would order 10 first, then if not enough, another 10, then if still not enough, another...

That's because this human battery grew up poor and his mummy had taught him not to waste food! So he would rather err on the side of "under-ordering", then over.

This human battery would never have started with 40 and if cannot finish, throw away the remainder.

The man is poor at judging proportions and when in doubt, tends to err on the side of excessive indulgence!

And that's problem number 2.

He had to cross the causeway to find kindness.

Why couldn't any satay man on this Matrix Island show him the same kindness?

Because no satay man here dare contradicts his words!

He orders 40, and you give him 25?

You never die before is it?

How dare you treat his words like shit, argue back and imply that he has poor judgement?

The one in Malaysia probably didn't know that his daddy was waiting with a hatchet in the cul-de-sac!

And that's problem number 3.

He was so surprised by the honourable act of a satay man;

"Wiow, there actually exist someone who is willing to be paid a fair amount and who expects nothing more. Can you belive that?"

Surrounded by greedy men, he has not seen an honourable act in years. No wonder he find it worthy of mention!

And that's problem number 4.

Upon knowing the kind act, he should have insisted on 40 sticks or even double-up to 80; Give a treat to his body guards and driver, and let the satay man goes home happily to his wife and kids.

But alas, he does not subscribe to the adage: "one good turn deserves another".

And that's problem number 5.

He ordered 40. Satay man came with nearly half of that - 25.

But he didn't know it until it's time to pay, where-upon he was pleasantly surprised.

He can't count, is poor at visual estimation, and is generally not too good with money!

And that's problem number 6, 7 and 8.

Neither is his accompanying wife! (That explains a lot!)

And that's an even larger problem number 9!

His Public relation people told him to come up with some down-to-earth stories to relate to the people.

And the best he could think of is mee siam mai hum, and 40 satays for 2,

...both of which shows that he is out of touch with reality!

For in reality, mee siam doesnt come with hum, and 40 stick of satay is excessive for 2 persons!

But, he doesn't know that!

He should stick to true stories about sipping birdnest. That will make his stories more authentic and convincing.

And that's problem number 10.

He forgot the ultimate kindness that human batteries have shown him when they bestow milliions of dollars upon him each and every year, while poverty has risen on the Matrix Island!

And that's the most unforgivable problem number 11!

Agent Smith: I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it, I can't stand it any longer. It's the smell, if there is such a thing. I feel saturated by it. I can taste your stink and every time I do, I fear that I've somehow been infected by it.

66.6% of the people support the Matrix Masters.

Look back at my figures: Less than 10% of those aged 40 and above got into university. So, even if we were to assume that all those graduates supported the Matrix Master, that would still leave us with 66.6% - 10% > 55% who had artifically (i.e. not based on "natural" educational principles) been deprived of a university education and who still whole-heartedly supported their own deprivation!!

Just what kind of people would deprive themselves and their children of a good education (that students with similar academic abilities in other developed countries get to enjoy) and still happily support their Matrix Master for doing so?

I tell you what I think: these are human batteries high on drugs!

Blue pills. Forced-fed to them everyday!

These blue pills cause them to be drowsy and giddy, such that their minds are never clear. Thus affected, such a mind is only capable of absorbing noise from the TV. It is no longer capable of absorbing knowledge, of discerning truth from lies and facts from fictions.

In fact, reading worsen the side effects of the blue pills, causing unbearable headaches such that all reading and knowledge-acquiring activities have to cease:

Tell me, when is the last time you visited your friends' or relatives' home, and noticed a study room instead of a mahjong room or home theatre room?

It has been said that you can judge the IQ of a city by the number of bookstores it has. In Taipei, there are 24 hours bookstores, pack with customers even in the wee hours. In Shanghai, young people are eagerly reading for free at various bookstores.

On this Island, our human batteries are very busy at midnight too...

...shopping!

That's why we are now advocating midnight shopping. Because it makes business sense! Shopping, especially at midnight, tends to somewhat alleviate the drowsy side effects of the blue pills. You shoud try it one day. Very rejuvenating!

MORE Singaporeans expect to keep working beyond the retirement age than people elsewhere in the world, according to a new global survey. Six in 10 Singaporeans polled said they expected to keep working for as long as possible, compared to the global average of four in 10. Three-quarters of those Singaporeans who expected to stay in the workforce said that this was because they wanted to. Many older Singaporeans said they feared not being useful and missing colleagues after retirement...

First, it was ranked 140th. Then 149th. And now, 154th.

I think it should be ranked 1st for creativity - the ability to creatively quote out of context an otherwise legitimate survey to suit its purpose!

Come here: http://www.moe.gov.sg/esd/Default.htm and read the various statistics for yourself:

Intake to universities for past 25 years:
1980: 3002 students
1990: 6928 students
1996: 8929 students
2000: 11232 students
2005: 12508 students = 23%

Since 12508 students is 23% of the cohort, by proportion, we can compute that 3002 is less than 5% and 6928 is about 10% (since the size of the cohort was larger back then).

So, barely 15 years ago, in 1990 - for those people currently in their late 30s - only about 1 in 10 was allowed to go university. What is going to happen to them when they hit 40 in a few years time? Structural unemployment! (Remember: washing test-tubes alone require bachelor degree).

In fact, they will be very hard hit, because they will be competing with those new graduates entering university right now, and right now, 2 in 10 can enter government-subsidised university, while another 1-2 fork out their own money and do it long distance.

But they are still "lucky".

Back in 1980, for every 10 persons you pick at random, only half of 1 person (yeah, not even 1 whole person) had a degree. These people, now in their late 40s, are "shaking legs" at home - retrenched!

In 25 years, we increased the number of graduates by four times!! Tell me, can the numberr of intellligent people in a population increase by 4 times in 25 years?

Surely not!

Therefore, there is hardly any educational basis to our university admission criteria.

How many can go in, how many cannot, all depend upon how many people the Matrix Master arbitrarily allows based on his wrong prediction at that time.

For 40 years, higher education has been suppressed and limited to the minimum number of people the Matrix Master thought the economy needed, the goal being to minimize the number of minds liberated, so as to maintain political control.

Your academic (and hence financial) future is determined not so much by your academic result, but by an artifically pre-determined percentage. This percentage has somewhat loosen up in recent years, but don't be fooled; The Matrix Masters has simply re-calculated and now predicted that we need more university graduates, so more are now allowed to go from poly to University. It's still the same-old same-old: arbitary admissioin criteria not based on educational principle.

And if you think such nonsense is only at the university level. I will administer you another red pill: it exist at all levels - A-level, O-level, N-level, PSLE!

You can study very hard, but if you have been designated - at the tender age of 9 years old - to become a factory worker when you turned 16, that's it. You will be one. The intended inflexibility of the various educational stream will ensure that.

That was in the past. Now, the administration has become, hmm, shall we call it, more sophisticated.

In the past, after the Matrix Master had decided that X% would become cheap labour, Agent Smith aka MOE would simply dump X% at PSLE into the normal stream. Quick and simple! But, tsk tsk, unhappy human batteries complained: educational system too inflexible, want to migrate.

No problem! Agent Smith is adaptable:

Latest forcast predicts that we now need only 0.6*X% to become cheap labour. But nope, let's not put 0.6*X% in the normal stream. Let's still put the same X% in normal stream! Then, let's fine tune the N-to-O level admission criteria, such that after the N-level exam, 40% of them are allowed proceed up to O-level. Done! We will get back the same figure: X - 0.4X = 0.6*X%. Wiow, back to square one, but you know what, human batteries are now all so happy that our educational system has become flexible!

And that's what we pay hundreds of thousands per year to elite admin officers to come up with!

And those who got into normal stream studied soooo hard, day and night, night and day. And when they finally get promoted to O-level, they were so happy. But they didn't know - they would have gotten into O-level directly if not for the blue-pill wayang!

Maybe they also didn't know: in other developed countries, everyone gets to do the equivalence of O-level, with no streaming, no inferiority complex, no elite-peasant divide!

A, B, E but no place in the local universities

MY DAUGHTER'S recent applications for entry to the three local universities - Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Singapore Management University - were all rejected. The reasons given were an overwhelming response, limited places in the universities and stiff competition.

My daughter is an above-average student who had excelled in sports. She has met all the criteria for entry to a local university. Is being eligible not enough? Must one now get extraordinary grades to be granted a place in university?

Like her, many young Singaporeans her age must have had their dream of pursuing a higher education dashed recently. Ironically, the universities are still advertising for applications. Are they looking for A-star performers who have more than one option? Are they raising their standards for applicants so that they will be able to improve their world ranking - just like an elite school or junior college that accepts only the best in Singapore so that ultimately its ranking will be at the top?

The Minister for Education had said that 'no Singaporean should be deprived of a good education', so what about the many students, like my daughter, who are qualified to enter university after two years of hard slog, only to be told that they had not been selected due to limited vacancies and stiff competition?

The Education Ministry should look into this problem with a sense of urgency as it only shows a lack of planning to meet the aspirations of young Singaporeans who want to study for a degree.

Local universities are publicly funded. Isn't it about loyalty and kinship that citizens are given a chance to study there as long as they are eligible for entry?

Are my daughter's grades of an A, B, C (General Paper) and an E not good enough?

My son, who is 27 years old and had A-level grades of A, B and C, graduated with a Second Upper Class Honours degree in the Arts and Social Sciences at NUS.

In other developed countries, Miss See's result will not get her into Cambridge University, Tokyo University, Harvard University, Australian National University or the likes of them, in their respective countries. Likewise, in Singapore, her result will not - and should not - get her into NUS - the number 1 ranking university of the country.

BUT, in these other countries, there are enough universities to go around, such that Mr. See's daughter can get into a 3rd or 4th rated one.

That's what those government do with the money they collect from tax-payers: build government-subsidised universities so that X% of their cohorts can be well-educated,-- as opposed to our much-less-than X% figure.

It is a fact that this Matrix Island does not have enough universities per 100,000 population, compared to all other developed countries.

It is a fact that on this Matrix Island, university admission criteria is not based on educational principles i.e. the principle that if, from an educational point of view, such and such a grade is needed for a student to be able to cope with such and such a university course, then we should have enough universities to admit a student having such a grade.

It is a fact that on this Matrix Island, only a small percent of each cohort is allowed to enter university, the percentage being first determined by how many people our Matrix Master (MM) had wrongly predicted that the MNC-based economy needs, and then "wayang-ly" determined by artifical university admission criteria (e.g. you need to pass GP to enter certain courses, and yet to enter the likes of Harvard, you need only have the equivalance of O-level C6 or a pass on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL))!

It is a fact that we now have structural unemployment because our people, having been artifically deprived of a tertiary education, cannot find jobs in the new knolwedge-based economy - that's why 80% of the researchers at our research institutions are foreigners Meanwhile, 80% of the locals, are now "washing test tubes" for these researchers! Has he been saying: "I have never considered if there is a political reason behind the policy of not abiding by educational principles. I don't need to think - MM does it for me"?

Has he been saying: "I used to be able to vote in a single constituency. Later, I get to vote only in a GRC. And of late, I have not been voting at all. But I have never been bothered by my inability to express my stake in the country via voting, because whatever goverment policies of the day has not affected me then"?

Or, is Mr. See saying now: "Now that my own child is affected, I am starting to have an interest in politics, starting to doubt MM's ability to forcast correctly, starting to doubt the wisdom of micro-managing educational and social policies and starting to suspect that there have always been more to any issue than what he state publicly and all these, I started for the first time in 40 years after the policies affect my own family"!

I mean, surely, you must have done many history projects on:

Napoleon, Caesar, Hitler: their thinking and their words,
the rise and fall of Chinese dynasties: the causes and the reasons,
the various types of political ideologies: communism, democracy, how they arose, the theories behind them
reading up various contradictory accounts of the same historical event, thus understanding that "history is written by the victor"?

(I said "surely", because that's how students in other developed countries are taught, and we are a developed country.)

Our responsibility, as far as education goes, is to learn how to build things, cure sickness or make money, so that we can become engineering/ medical/ business human batteries respectively.

Learning to think, to question, and to ultimately liberate the mind is NOT the educational goal assigned to human batteries!

And our Matrix Masters have specially designed an education curriculum and exam syllabus and streaming criteria to ensure that.

"But.. but.. but a country does need people who are well-versed in such history and literature and philosophy and whose mind are liberated in order to survive, does it not?", stammered some human batteries in shock.

Sure it does!

And our Matrix Master knew that too. Long ago, in fact.

More than 20 years ago, he had already come up with the perfect solution - a Humanities Scholar Scheme, designed specially for the top X% of each cohort. Here's how it works:

Identify such top students via national exams
Allow these students (and only these students) to enroll in selected schools that are funded with extra money allocated specially for the scheme.
Let their young minds be liberated through such studies in humanities.
It's ok, because they won't betray the Matrix Masters. The undergraduate scholarships and bonds that they will get later, will ensure that!

(Wee Shu Min, by the way, was in this Humanities Scholar Scheme, if I remember correctly).

To put it another way, on this Matrix Island, only the top X% of each cohort are allowed to go through a real education - which seeks to liberate the mind by training it to analyse, to doubt, to question, and hence to be able to sieve truth from falsehood, relevance from irrelevance, fact from myth. And, having had their mind thus liberated, they, while useful to the country, will also become a serious threat to the Matrix Master, and hence all will be bought over with scholarship money and high salary and be inducted into the administrative service!

Oh, btw, X is a very small percentage.

The gifted student scheme is for the top 1% of the cohort. Each cohort is about 50,000 students and so only 500 join the scheme each year. The Humanities Scholar Scheme draws its students mostly (but not entirely) from a subset of the gifted student scheme and so is made up of less than 1% of each cohort!

"The remainder i.e. 99.xx% of each cohort, they have better had only a technical education which serves the economy directly and which will ensure that they remain ignorant human batteries!", so thought our Matrix Master.

How many times have you heard of the above whining?

This Matrix Island is full of such whiners.

In fact, a recent survey revealed that 50% of our youth would like to emigrate if given a chance!

Unbelievable!

Even in matters of emigration, they want someone, presumably the government, to "give [them] a chance"!

Just what is so difficult about emigrating?

You don't have to be highly educated - literally thousands of men, women and children from Hong Kong emigrated to Europe, United States, and Australia pre-1997.

Just visit their Chinatown if you ever go on a business trip. Enjoy your Dim Sum, sip your tea and observe those women who are pushing the dim sum carts. Do they sound educated at all to you?

Why, many of them cannot even speak English! And don't tell me all hundreds of thousands of them are illegal immigrants - that just defy logic. Talk to them and you will discover that education is a myth. Skill is the answer. And sometimes, the skill can be as "simple" as knowing how to make/sell dim sum.

You don't have to be below a certain age - Australia may have an age restriction - below 45 years old. But not so, for many European countries and United States; Many of these countries do not discriminate in age, even in immigration matters.

So what do you need to have?

Answer: you need to have guts, and this is what many human batteries lack!

If you still need to be convinced, chat with your typical Indian or Chinese colleagues from India/China. How did they end up in Singapore? What about their peers who went to the west? Their revelation will be enlightening:

Many of them, upon university graduation, stayed on to do a Masters degree in their own country. They then used their masters result to gain entry to our NUS/NTU.

While here, they suffered discriminatory remarks from Singaporeans in their everyday lives. After enduring and getting a second master degree here, they applied to 1st-rated universities in the West, effectively using the highly-trusted NUS/NTU degree as a stepping stone.

Finally, after getting yet another masters degree, from the 1st-rated universities, they ended up with top-paying job, and get their PR and later citizenship!

So you see how much hardship and repeated studying at the same level they went through to get their new citizenship? Many don't even make it, and they return back to their own country having wasted both time and finance.

But no, our young local students will have nothing of this sort.

We have A-levels and poly diploma holders, who having been deprived of state-subsidised university education (because our matrix masters limited university entry ,and hence subsidy, to only 10+% of each cohort - a figure grossly below other developed countries' standard), and who having forked out their own money to study in Australia...

...choose to return back to this matrix Island to work at a fraction of the salary that they would have gotten if they had stayed on in Australia!

We also have local university graduates who would never go further their studies in the West unless fed monthly salaries while studying. (Well, according to Philip Yeo, that's the reason why A*Star has to pay its scholars salaried postgraduate scholarships).

And yet, 50% of our youth - of which these people are part of - would not hesitate to emigrate "if given a chance"!

Just what chance are they waiting for?

And to be given by whom?

What is preventing these unhappy young people from doing what their Indians and Chinese counterpart did?

To give another example, when Taiwan was a highly repressed society back in the 1970s, thousands of taiwanese university graduates emigrated to USA each year, and became the "model immigrants" of that country.

Later, when Taiwan opened up, they returned back to help fuel the high-tech economy -- which means it is neither disloyal nor shameful to be temporary "quitters", when the country is hoarded by despots.

Just what is preventing our disgruntled "young English-educated radicals" (to borrow MM's words) from doing the same, instead of just waiting for "a chance"?

Well, in a way, I am not surprised. If these human batteries have no guts to even vote against status quo, despite being highly displeased with their Matrix Masters (MM), what can you expect from them when it comes to something that involve considerable financial sacrifice, time commitment, and uncertainty on their part?

Police say SMS about perfume poisoning is a hoax

SINGAPORE: Police say an SMS that has been circulating, about seven women who died after inhaling free perfume samples, is a hoax.

Police remind the public to be responsible when disseminating information, and not to spread rumours.

If you receive such messages, you should contact the Police by dialling 999.

In other countries, it is the task of parents and nannies to "remind" their young charges to be responsible and not to spread rumours (about a perfume). But here, the police finds it appropriate to be our nanny!

So now you know why this country is called a "Nanny State"!

And in other countries, police emergency numbers are reserved for exactly that: emergencies. This means crimes such as an ongoing murder, rape, robbery, gang fight etc.

Here, on this wonderful Matrix Island, our Matrix Masters (MM), too, reserve 999 for emergencies. This means crime such as SMS messages disparaging the good name of a particular brand of perfume!

So, fellow human batteries, don't blame the police if you witness an unimportant crime such as a woman being raped, and cannot reach the 999 operator in time;

Those 999 operators have their hands full handling other emergencies of even greater proportion -- 7 women who do not exist and did not die!

So your rape victim jolly well have to wait in the phone queue while the case of the 7 virtual women is handled. First come, first serve - never mind virtual or real!

Oh, before I forget, how is the police going to "remind" us to be responsible (when it comes to a particular brand of perfume)? By inviting us to "drink tea" at the police station? Or is it at CID;s cold room? Or is it by charging us to court? (Obviously, they have to do one thing or the other, for otherwise, their "reminder" is not going to be effective).

This Matrix Island is not called a "Police State" for nothing!

So, if you are contemplating starting a family and having a baby, ask yourself: do you want just your 14 years old teenager to be hauled up to court or to the police station, for sending a SMS message about the false effects of a perfume?

If not, why do you want to have a baby on this Island? (That's not to say you should not reproduce. The hint is in the italics, to be talked about at another time :)

So, the Mountbattan Citizen Consultative Committee (CCC) held a fund raising dinner at suntech city yesterday, the proceed of which would go towards helping the poor residents of that constituency. And so:

The CEO of Kim Seng Heng holding bid $6,800 for an XO wine with SM Goh's signature on it.
The boss of Yafriro International bid $19,800 for an extra large Heineken, also signed by SM Goh.
This same boss donated a $29,000-worth Parmigiani Fleurier watch.
Someone bid $33,000 for this watch.
Another bid $5,500 for an OSIM massage chair.

All in all, these generous people raised $200,000 for charity.

Erm, what about the wooden one himself, whom I supposed was the guest of honour? Of the $200,000 total, how much did he contribute to help the poor residents of Mountbattan?

This is how our National University of Singapore (NUS) pays its professors:

NUS terms of service for faculty appointments

"Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents receive statutory Central Provident Fund (CPF) benefits, in the form of monthly contributions to the CPF. For those aged below 50, the rates of contributions are 20% and 13% of gross monthly salary, by the faculty member and the University respectively, subject to a salary ceiling of $4,500 pm for year 2006. The rates for those above 50 years of age are lower. Contributions are tax -exempt and may be withdrawn at the age of 55 or when the faculty member leaves Singapore/Malaysia permanently; while

Faculty members who are not Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents may receive, in lieu of provident fund benefits, a monthly Special Payment for Foreign Staff which is calculated at 125% of the employer’s CPF contribution rate, on monthly salary, subject to the same salary ceiling as for CPF contributions. Every month, NUS pays each of its foreign professor 125% of what it pays its local professors. This translate to (16.25 - 13)% * $4500 = $146.25 in cash (and NUS has the cheek to call it a "monthly special payment"). Meanwhile, its singaporean professors get nothing in cash or in cpf! Zero! Ling2 Dan4!

At the end of a standard 6 years tenure period (two 3-years contracts), NUS would have paid its foreign professor $146.25 * 12 * 6 = $10,530 more than an equally qualified local professor.

Q: Meaning?

A: Meaning if you were a Singaporean who had decided to heed the government's call to do a PhD in some biotech field at, say, Harvard University, this is what might happen to you in future: you work closely with a China-born fellow student in your lab. Upon graduation, both of you receive job offers at NUS's science faculty - not a far fetched idea, since Singapore is expanding its bioscience research and the government opens its legs and pussy arms to foreign "talents".

You, the local, get paid about $150 less each month and receive about $10,000 less at the end of the two 3-years contract, compared to your buddy, the China-born foreigner, who is also from Harvard and who is working in that same biotech research field as you and who has more or less the same number of publications as you!

So what's the difference between the two of you that makes you deserve less and he more?

Nothing -- except that in the eyes of NUS/ MOE/ Matrix Master (MM), you are a lowly shitty Sink-a-Poor-人 by birth!

Q: Bigger meaning?

A: Meaning if you -- i.e. my readers from overseas -- don't want to suffer such humiliation and insults, don't come back to Singapore once you have left. You are truly a second-class citizen in your own country, and if previously you had any doubt about this "hunch", NUS has spelt it out in black and white to help you see things clearly in no uncertain terms. What more evidence do you need?

$150 a month is no big deal, especially when you are earning a 5-figure salary. But that's not the crux of the matter, is it? The point that matters is: why do you want to stomach such discrimination in your own country? Why should you? It's not as if you cannot find a job elsewhere where everyone with the same qualification is paid the same wage for the same job!

And do not think for a moment that you are abandoning your own country when you do that. Firstly, you are in effect helping to exert pressure on the Matrix Masters to treat locals fairly, lest more human batteries leave. Secondly, this country has abandoned you first, anyway...

Q: Biggest meaning?

A: Note that NUS has the audacity (or was it "stupidity"?) to state its discriminatory policy openly on its website. But NUS is merely an extension of MOE and takes its cue and instruction from the latter (even though it is supposedly "autonomous")!

So, I leave it to you guys to draw your own conclusion as to what it means in general: how do other ministries and statutory boards and government-linked companies - all of which are "cleverer" than NUS when it comes to publishing their HR policies on the web - pay/treat their employees/customers who are foreigners viz a viz equally-qualified Sink-a-Poor-人?!?

法外也有人情俄少女获减刑可赶上升学

18岁俄罗斯少女到本地探访父母期间，前往夜店玩乐服用爱它死，被判坐牢半年。她上诉高庭后昨天获得减刑，刑期减短至4个月，可在同天出狱。

(她生来命好 (在外国出世,持外国护照,当然是命好)! 换做是本地人, 且别说无法减刑, 首先就会被判至少一年牢以上!果然是同人不同名.明白.明白! )

　　代表她的严永权高级律师指出，少女原本在今年2月就可前往瑞士求学，并且已经获得签证。她在瑞士申请到的签证也将在本月19日到期，希望法庭能够让她在这之前出狱，让她前往瑞士升学。

法官相信少女有心求学

　　VK拉惹法官相信少女有心求学，并希望她的前程不会受到影响，因此批准了少女的上诉。

(当然相信 - 都说了,外国人是人才嘛!至于本地人,那当然是蠢才 - 在自己的国家成了二等公民,居然还鼓掌称好,投票支持.你倒说说看:世上还有那个国家有如此蠢的国民?)

　　法官说：“我们不要一个人因为年少一时糊涂犯错而蒙上污点或毁掉前程。”

广东民路昨天凌晨发生家庭悲剧，一对母女双双坠楼身亡。据了解，这对母女可能是不堪生活压力，结果中年妇女把八旬母亲从13楼住家推下楼后，再自己坠楼轻生。

Yes, yes, yes, I do know this is an inappropriate time to make the following comment, but I really do wonder: were these two women ardent suppporters of their Matrix Master (MM) in the past, when his well-publicised zero-tolerence for welfarism did not personally affect them?

Was it only moments before the middle aged woman pushed her 80 years old mother down their 13th floor flat (and then jumped down herself), that both of them finally realised that some welfarism is necessary and good?

Or maybe till their last breath, they still thought it was their own bad luck that they had become so poor, and that the State did not owe it to them to give them adequate social welfare benefits, after they had paid taxes throughout their working life?

My point is simply this: If we now read of such news, and we do nothing - when the well-publicised zero-tolerence for welfarism do not personally affect us - who is going to be standing up for us, when we suay suay reach the desperate stage of this pair of mother and daughter one day?

Don't say it will never happen to you or me. Life is unpredictable.

I really cannot understand: how can 66.6% of people think it is ok for a country not to provide adequate social welfare for its people? Then what is the f-ing point of them having to pay taxes via their income, GST, high land price, COE, CPF etc etc?

Not only do I look down on these 66.6% goondus, I think our Matrix Master doesnt think much of his supporters too! Which is why, he is importing more foreigners to replace those who has left - 'cos he thinks those who stayed behind are not good enough!

Let's see 5 years later, what choice is those goondus going to make again!

八十年代，他利诱受高教育的女人結婚生子，给她们的孩子优先选校。

四十年过去了，他由始至终，从没改变想法。他换汤不换药，他一点都没变！

报纸更是洋洋洒洒，忠实地替他宣扬。

而如今，木头人又再一次公开说明多一遍。。。

但他们始终无动于衷，毫不介意。

他们忠心耿耿，不离不弃。

他们十分凑趣，百分配合，千分委曲求全，万分支持！

自作贱，到如此“境界”，简直已到了惹人厌，令人看不起，使人想作呕的地步！

这样的贱民，有必要替他们出头吗？

　　日前在咖啡店用餐后，暴雨骤然而至，泼了墨似的天空恐怕一时半刻难以放晴。返回办公室无望，于是叫了杯浓咖啡，对着杂然无章的雨势浮想联翩，权当偷得半日清闲。此时，隔座传来一段颇为精彩的对白：

　　甲：这回绝对不是跳草裙舞，我是来真的。这个老板已经忍他太久，挂着服务社会招牌，干的尽是叫人抬不起头的事。

　　乙：老弟，别老是跟自己过不去，老板的所作所为，我们个个心知肚明，但他总算待我们不薄。你瞧，去年的花红他可曾亏待了谁？

　　甲：钱固然要赚，但得来要问心无愧，当初加入这一行，金钱本就不是最大考量。去年行情大好，许多老同学都介绍我转行，偏偏工作吸引我，拒绝了好几份薪酬高的职位。现在想起来，自己真是蠢极了。

乙：当初入行，谁不是为了兴趣和热诚？不过，这两样东西不能一辈子当饭吃，最终你面对的仍然是现实。而现实是不管你换了什么环境，你所面对的东西不会改变。

　　甲：昨天的事相信你也听说了。分明是我们的疏忽，诚恳道歉，积极做出补偿，对方应当能接受的。可是，老板偏要我修改报告，把责任开脱，他吃准对方是老实人，不谙法律程序，又无经济能力上告，只能吃哑巴亏。看着对方那张欲哭无泪的脸与近乎空洞的眼睛，真恨不得捅自己两刀！

　　此时，雨停了，两人结账离去，只见头发斑白的乙轻声对一脸英气的甲说：“你可听过‘直八’的故事？这做人啊……”

　　对话远去了，咖啡却霎时间变得淡然无味，心头隐隐有种刺痛。二十年前初入行时，有个慈蔼长者曾谆谆说过类似话语，而不久前，自己也对年轻人温言相劝，说的竟也是同样的话。二十年来，这世道并未改变，我们仍然认真不得。

　　据说，孔子有一天带着学生们去春游，走得有点渴了，就让子路到山顶上一户人家去要碗水。子路敲敲门，出来一个老头，听说他要喝水，就写了个字说：“看你像个学生，那么你认识这个字吗？”子路不屑地回答说：“这还不简单呀，是‘真’呀！”老头说：“真谁不认得，还用你说呀，不给你水喝，你没学问。”子路没办法，垂头丧气地回去。孔子又派子贡去讨水，子贡敲敲门，老头出来了，又考他“真”字。子贡气定神闲地回答：“哦，这个字呀是‘直八’。”老头于是高兴的给了子贡一大桶清甜的山泉水。孔子听完经过后感慨的说：“做人要是认真了，连口凉水也喝不成。”　

这故事显然纯属捏造，假孔夫子之名，讽世事之寒凉，处事待人认真，必定寸步难行，处处碰壁。我们成长道路上一路伴随的圣贤道理，来到职场官场，几乎都是“此路不通”标志，仅在作秀场面才唱些礼义廉耻高调。

　　对于理想与现实撞击，直道正路难行，孔子在《论语》里借柳下惠之口作了生动的诠释。

　　世人多仅知柳下惠“坐怀不乱”，不知他姓展名获字子禽，鲁国人，曾官拜士师（掌管监狱的官）。因他居官清正，执法严谨，不合时宜，弃官归隐，居于柳下（今濮阳县柳屯）。死后被谥为“惠”，故称柳下惠。《论语·微子》记载柳下惠出任士师，因刚正不阿，多次遭罢免下台。有人因此劝他出国另投明主，柳下惠却回答：“若用正直的态度去处世，到哪里能不被罢免排挤呢？但如果用不正直的态度去处世，当然处处混得开，而那又何必离开自己的祖国呢？”

　　在一个道德勇气萎缩、正道不行的颓败社会里，除非你与人们同流，或让心灵熏得更黑，否则很难适应世道，出人头地。凡在迷醉众生间保持清醒，拒绝投靠权势捞取利益，又不愿避离红尘做个高蹈隐士，那么，这世界留给他的恐怕只是一道道坚硬厚实的铜墙铁壁。柳下惠如此，孔夫子如此，屈原更是如此；拒绝迎合时尚而选择布满荆棘的直道，这样的悲剧两千年来未曾改变。

For 40 years, our Matrix Master (MM) has stressed repeatedly that he cannot allow human batteries to make fun of police officers as this will reduce their authority and legitimacy in the eyes of the public and this will lead to chaos in the country and investors leaving and racial riots... blah blah blah.

Towards this end, he forbids the making of any tv drama that depicts any police officer in a bad light, even when it is only fictional e.g. yelling at wife, smoking, beating his own kids etc. (This rule is relaxed a bit in recent years, I think). He also directed the AG's office to seek deterrant sentences whenever members of the public hurt a police officer.

But even as those on the outside are not doing anything to smear the police's reputation, the police force, from within, is causing damage to itself:

Death on test drive: Why no action?
I REFER to the report, 'Driver crashes test car, sales exec dies. Now he's shopping for these hot wheels' (ST, April 4).

I was outraged after reading about the nonchalant manner in which Mr Regan Lee commented on his so-called dilemma of having to choose between two high-performance cars, totally devoid of any guilt over his part in the sales executive's death.

However, my outrage was nothing, compared with my dismay that the case has dragged on for 17 months, without even the perpetrator of the accident being charged. In the meantime, Mr Lee continues to drive and is even pondering the purchase of a sports car.

Anyway, for every one such inaction "exposed" by our newspapers, you can be assured that there are another 10 (or maybe 100?) cases of injustice that are buried deep inside and which will never see the light of the day, either because they did not attract the attention of the reporters, or because the reporters dare not report on them (cannot put police in bad light, remember?), or there is an official order to cover up (as in the organ robbery case, where the family's plea for a full investigation is ignored).

Do you know what cause all these police problems? Simple! Our police officers are not well-paid enough - hence they are susceptible to corruption and inaction and resignation!

We should increase their salary by 10 -folds. Somehow, with a higher pay cheque, they will work harder (not lesser).

Somehow, the concept that if you dish out too much welfare, people will lose their interest in working will NOT apply to Ministers or police force. So yes, up their salary for their dismal performance!

OK, enough of sarcasm. I want to say this seriously to the parents of this Mr. Regan Lee:

"Shame on you! Your son has just killed a young girl through his reckless high-speed driving (and some said, drink-driving too) - and you are buying him another car?!? And a sports car some more? What kind of parents are you people?

Maybe you are going to receive a terrible phone call at night telling you that you have lost your son on the road soon -- not that I am cursing him; It is a fact that the way you are bringing him up is going to make him even bolder and more reckless in his driving, and thus make it more likely for him to get killed on the road.

Maybe someone should give your son a good punch on the nose - you should thank the person who does that because he is knocking some sense into your son on your behalf (since you two are not fit to be parents), and saving your son from commiting worse crimes and reaping worse karmic retribution!"

Maybe one of us should really call up his parents based on the info listed.

Oh, in that same 1996 speech at the National Trade Union Congress, our Matrix Master (MM) also said:

"I have bucked and gone against popular sentiments and conventional wisdom on several major issues in the past and been proved right. For example I decided that individual accounts (CPF) for retirement was right and rejected the buffet or collective pension fund which has got the advanced countries into grave financial difficulties.

I have also instituted individual accounts for Medisave, plus insurance cover for Medishield against catastrophic illnesses. It has proved right as against the problems which free medical service like the National Health Service in Britain, France, Germany has brought them, or the open system of private insurance in America.

What I did was against popular thinking in Singapore at the time, thinking which was influenced by what Britain and Europe were doing then. Time has proved me right".

Time has proved you wrong, you fool!!!

CPF has now been proved to be not enough for retirement, which is why you are now openly demanding - via Lim Boon Heng - that old people work till they drop dead, instead of retiring.

Medisave and Medishield have both been proved to be useless for health care, which is why everybody dare to die but nobody dare to fall sick! Which is also why you are now - via Khaw Boon Wan - trying various mesasures desperately to mend them and to stitch the big holes together!

In short, what you did "was against popular thinking in Singapore at that time", AND time has proved that your obstinate nonsensical ideas are all wrong!

Increasingly, I am inclined to conclude that our MM not only did not build the Matrix Island, but has always been, in fact, a hindrance to its progress!

"But if he did not build it, who did"? I hear some of you asking.

Answer: Other "old guards" who disagreed with his nonsensical views!

Within PAP itself, many of the "old guards" had political views different from him, and some of those known to the public were: Lim Chin Siong, Lee Seow Choo, Ong Pang Boon, Toh Chin Chye, Devan Nair, and the latest, Ong Teng Cheong.

One can argue that the Island's achievement was due to these old guards' ideas prevailing over MM's contradictory onsenseical ideas.

This is not a far-fetched argument as we do have empirical evidences. For example:

Lee was the one who advocated joining Malaysia while Lim Chin Siong and Lee Seow Choo opposed. It turned out the latter were right.
Devan Nair opposed the way Lee treated political opponents, and cited JB Jeya as an example in his (Nair's) book. This means that if not for Lee, the island would have been more likely to have achieved a healthy 2-party system even while PAP was in government!
Ong Teng Cheong (though not strictly an "old guard") advocated a proper presidential check and balance, opposed by Lee. Thus, one can infer that without Lee, PAP may have instituted more check and balance against itself.

And so on, on many high impact issues such as educational streaming, teaching of languages, the kind of economy to concentrate on, human rights etc.

Note that the bullet points above are just glimpses of truth that "leaked" out. Many of their political differences are not known to the public even today, since MM insisted that the party must put on a "united front".

And now for the ultimate test:

Look at what happened in the past 15 years (1990-2005), after the "old guards" were all forced into retirement, and MM was allowed to run a one-man show. Unopposed by his peers (who were his equal and dared to speak up against him), and now with "colleagues" more than 20 years his junior. what has happened to this Matrix Island?

Human Battery: You never did build the Island. The Island was built by others - your peers whose views were fortunate enough to have prevailed over your nonsense.
You are the hindrance to this island's progress - whenever your nonsensical views prevailed. And sadly, ever since you forced your peers into retirement, your views have always prevailed!

This post is about how native-born Human Batteries have been betrayed by our Matrix Masters (MM) and how we are now systematically being replaced by foreigners, who in the eye of the Matrix Masters, are better than us because we are "the uneducated, the less well-off (who) will stay here and rot" (Yeah, those were MM's exact word. See the quotes on my previous post).

Low salaries ensure that only those who are sincere in wanting to serve the country will run for office!

This is like our local social service field. Social workers are so poorly paid that nobody is in it for the money. Only the most dedicated remained behind to serve the people. (Note: however that actually these social workers should be paid more. They are underpaid such that even those who are reasonably dedicated have left. But that's another story for another time).

　　友人50岁出头，不幸的给公司裁了，以这年龄要找一份适合的工作是非常困难的。为了自救，就想考取一张德士执照，希望自雇能干活到70几岁。

　　但问题是他去申请时，才知道上课和考试全以英语进行，那就是一个很大的障碍了，因为他是上世纪受纯华文教育，只会说一点生活上的英语，至于书写、阅读和理解就不能应付了！

　　关于德士行业，只要对条规熟悉，道路熟悉，能听懂路名，基本上就能胜任了，当然驾驶一定要小心。

　　既然新加坡面临年长者的难于觅职的切实问题，那恳请主管德士的机构能对语文这一要求稍微放松，以中文教导一些不谙英语的年长工友，或在课本和考题上中英并用，让他们自立。以华文教导应该不会影响德士业的水平，毕竟驾德士是自雇的，他们在从事这行业时，必定会尽力的做好本份。

　　这一来，一些年长失业者也多了一个选择，多一个机会自救！请有关当局帮帮忙！

This is the consequence of having an artificially-created caste system where the elite ruling class grows up in an exclusive school environment due to repeated streaming at multiple levels. Their classmates, classmates' parents, friends, friends' parents etc come mostly from the same background as them.

When these elites become policy maker straight after obtaining their foreign university education on elite scholarships, they don't understand that the people they had mixed around during their school days is not representative of the larger society at all!

Therefore the needs of those who cannot speak English never enter their mind. They cannot imagine the predicament and great difficulties these people face everyday.

They do not even know of the existence of a large number of human batteries who cannot read or write in English: "Got such people on this Island meh? Cannot be wat, all my friends and their parents can speak English, even if broken"!

They do not know that these people, in fact, are a majority, the silent majority - human batteries who have eyes but cannot read, who have ears but cannot hear, who have mouth but cannot speak! Human Batteries who live like foreigners who cannot comprehend the natives' language, even though they are in their own country!

That's why we need politicians who are attuned to the people's needs, who are from the masses, who are commoners! While the best civil servant may well be defined as an academically intelligent person who can analyse issues well and come up with various solutions, the best politician is one who can understand his people's constraints and needs well, such that from among these many policies, he can sieve through and pick one which will serve his people best! This precisely is the one thing that separates a politician from a civil servant:.

And in Singapore's context, the more academically elite a person is, the more frog-in-the-well his education experience is, and the less suitable he is to be a politician!

So yes, we want the best politicians. But the best politicians is not the super-academic type that supposedly can only be enticed to enter politicis by millions of dollars. Let these academically-bright people be bankers, or entrepreneurs, or be in academia, and let the private sector pays them millions of dollars. It's good for the economy.

Citizens should vote for the best politicians based on how "in tune" they are with the commoners. Such politicians can be ordinary folks doing ordinary jobs such as taxi drivers, actors (Ronald Reagan was one) etc - jobs which allow them to come across people from all segments of the society, and which broadens their understanding of the people's needs and constraints. Such politicians do not require millions to employ and they make great politicians, as we have seen in many western countries with real democracy. (Such politicians will have academically bright civil servants working for them, remember?)

But alas, human batteries have taken too much red pills: they vote for politicians based on which politicians has more brain!

These gullible human batteries are allowing virus to spread all over our beautiful Matix Island - human viruses who demand and demand until every bit of our money is consumed!

The first poem is about 朱元璋, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He chased out the Mongolian invaders.

The others are about our very own 猪源赃, who opened his arms to welcome....

Some history:
Emperor Choo decreed that his eldest son should take over his throne when he dies. But alas, his son died before him (Emperor Choo lived to 70 yeas old - a ripe old age in those days, I would think). And his eldest grandson died young too.

So after Emperor Choo's death, his second grandson took to the throne. However, barely a year later, the other son of Emperor Choo (i.e. the uncle of the grandson) rebelled. Uncle Choo fought with little Choo for 3 years and Uncle Choo won.

The dynasty then continued for another 200+ years. That was the most repressive and close-minded regime China has ever had. The decline of China, which until that point was the most powerful nation on earth, can be traced back to this regime and its refusal to accept new ideas and viewpoints.

It was replaced by the Qing dynasty, whose Manchurian rulers were foreigners from the north. Further repression took place, including several notorious mass death penalty for all the relatives of those who wrote books and poems against these foreigners. Qing lasted another 300+ years.

It was the last dynasty. After booting those foreigners who had overwhelmed and taken over his country, Dr. Sun Yat Sen (a medical doctor) and his comrades abolished monarchy and instituted democracy for China for the first time in its history.

Some opinion on the history:
Oh well, China is a hugh place. So the Emperor lah, Uncle lah, Grandson lah took some time to settle their scores and by the time the good Doctor came along to preach and fight for democracy, it was already 600 years later with a foreigners-ruled-locals period in between.

If China were much smaller, for example, the size of a little dot, maybe history would have been made much faster. For example, 60 years instead of 600?

The baby girl, born two months early, was breathing on her own Sunday, doctors said. The baby, named Cristina after her mother, was born by emergency Caesarian section and weighed just over 1.5 pounds, the doctors told reporters. The woman's last name was not released to protect the family's privacy. Doctors decided to deliver the baby after the woman's blood pressure plunged and the fetus experienced heart rhythm problems, the hospital said.

The woman was hospitalized in March after suffering the rupture of a cerebral aneurysm, and she was soon declared brain dead, the hospital said. She spent 78 days in a brain-dead state, it said. The mother's kidneys and corneas were donated for transplant, the hospital said. Her liver was donated to another patient at Niguarda hospital, news reports said.

That would be way too late, as the Sim family found out the hard and tragic way! Now is the time. We may not be as brave as these people, but we can still make a stand through various anonymous ways.

If Mr. A got his news only from the English media, and Mr. B got his only from the Chinese media, they would think they are living on two seperate Island!

Mr.A would be writing a bootlicking English letter to the Straits Times forum to congratulate MOH and "the medical community" on "winning the fight".

Mr. B, meanwhile, would be scolding in Chinese: "Ta Ma De! Why didn't the Ministry of Manpower require chest X-ray and do some careful checks before granting work permits? My health and my children's health are in danger"! He will think the country is losing the fight, especially since he knows the number of foreigners to be imported is set to increase by a few millions in the future.

The Straits Times - and in fact, other English media such as Channel Newsasia - is not ranked 146th for nothing! Zaobao is much better if you want a balanced news report. (Note the contrast in how Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao initially reported the organ robbery incident)

When I first started this Matrix-themed blog, I was prompted merely by the similarity of how we are being fed a dream-like ideal world via government-controlled news media and how those humans in the Matrix movie are being fed such similar things by the matrix program.

Little did I know that the similarity is much more than that -- we are literally being harvested for our organs, not much different from those humans in the Matrix movie having their organs being used as an energy source!

Don't take my word for it. Just judge the similarity for yourself as you read the latest insider's info on what happened to the Sim family:

Not only disallowing Sim family to transfer Mr. Sim, the famiLEE LEEgime also disallow Sim family's demand to discharge from SGH. They just find every excuses and threat as well as brute forces were used to prevent late Mr. Sim to leave their hands before they plundered his organs.

All the Sim family members I met had confirmed that, and I have no doubt about it.

The reason I can see very obviously is that SGH has the transplantation dept awating for Mr. Sim's organ, they want the organs there and ASAP, they won't let Mr. Sim go even to TTSH to seek better chance of treating his stroke.

I personally know that NNI at TTSH specialize with strokes, because 3 family memebers of mine - my granny my uncle and my mom were treated for stroke at TTSH NNI, I had been a frequent visitor of the NNI neuro specialist clinics as well as the wards and had even been to the ICU.

Mr. Sim admitted to SGH on 1.Feb.2007, he was still able to talk to visiting friends and family member after being found with stroke. He became unconcious on 3.Feb and was plundered his organs on 7.Feb. They back dated his Cert Of Death to 5.Feb

Actually Ms Sim gave me a photocopy of Mr.Sim's cert of death that I want to scan and web publish. But I cock-up today must have lost in on my way back. :-Z Need to ask for another photocopy.

I tried to ask the Sim family details of late Mr. Sim's medical treatments, they could hardly tell me much, but seemingly, nothing much was done by SGH to prevent Mr. Sim's stroke to worsen from a mild stroke as the SGH called it, into a brain-death again according to the SGH's own defination. I am interested because beside CT scan & blood pressure etc things, there are a lot actually that can be done to prevent Mr. Sim from worsening so drastically, from being able to talk and wanting to get down from sick bed to walk to toilet, until coma & so call braindeath.

My personal experience, I was told by doctor that my uncle will surely die from his stroke, on doctor's instuction, my aunt ordered coffin and funeral services for my uncle. The hospital pushed him into a empty room removed his oxygen etc. But in his coma I tube-fed him Chinese herbal medicine, he recovered already for about 4 years, already discharged to family home, and could ride at the back of his son's motorbike.

I was also told by doctors that my mom's stroke was very leathel, and she will either die or be long term bed-ridden or wheelchair bonded, thank heaven, we managed to defy all of that, and stroke recovered like it never happened.

My granny died in Malaysia almost a year after her stroke, I exhausted all my money on her medical, I was then still bankrupt and wasn't able to raise more money to stay in Malaysia to help her. Sadly she left me. But I was able to put her on recovery path, and see her improvements. She was bed-ridden, and requires lot of care, without my lost ablity to stay with her, she worsen quickly in Malaysia and died of resulted complications. I put in about one solid year of intensive care for her.

Speaking to Sim family, just floated up all my own painful memories... and losses.

We are all aware that China's journalist Chow Hai Ruo was declared brain-dead in London after train crash. China flew her back to heal her to excellent recovery. How fortunate that UK didn't plunder her organs when she was declared to be brain-dead, otherwise... would be just like late Mr. Sim.

I think it is fair as a hospital that you can tell patients' family that you already tried you best, you can not help the patient any better, and you think the patient is going to die very soon. I think the family can accept it. But like myself I didn't give up hope for my own family members, I did whatever I could to save their lives, even after hospital told me to prepare that they are to be dead. I will thank the hospitals for all their care and help provided still.

It just puzzle me very very much, why this does not apply to Mr. Sim Tee Hua who is a Singaporean and served NS? Why disallowed him to be transfer to TTSH? Why disallowed him to be discharged?

Mr Sim was pushed into OT to have his organs plundered, with his heart beating alive, breathing and hands warm according to Sim family, by dirty deception tricks and brute forces against strongly opposing family members' will, kneeling begging and crying. The Sims were pushed, held to the wall and handcuffed by so many matas to have the loved one's heart put to stop and organs plundered. Mr Sim's slaughted carcass was returned to his family cold hours after the plundering.

This is very unbelievable but true.

And that mata can challenge Miss Cally Sim and her 15 year old nephew , to take his mata gun from him in the process of that!

I read the above from here and I am reproducing it on my blog for my own archival purpose. Let us recap what happened:

First, we were told by Straits Times and Channel Newsasia that the family of a dead man had a scuffle with hospital staff.

Then, it was leaked that actually the man was not dead in the conventional sense at all! His heart was still beating and the family was refused even one more day before the slaughter. We also learnt that it's not hospital staff, but 20+ police officers and security guards!

Then, it was exposed that the police yelled at and taunted the victim's family, and in fact were even more agitated than the victim's family! They tricked the family to leave the patient's room and then wheeled the patient away through a secret door.

Then, we found out that a police officer actually challenged the victim's family to a gun fight, while a hospital CCTV was recording their disgraceful behaviour!

And now, in the latest installment, it has been exposed that the family had wanted to transfer the patient to another hospital, or failing that, to discharge him, but SGH refused!!!

So tell me,

How much more dirt are lying there, having been buried by our Matrix Masters and waiting to be exposed?
What will come out if there is an open inquiry?
Are the above not enough to tell you that something is amiss here?

Increasingly, I am beginning to find it not a conspiracy theory and not far-fetched at all to suspect that one or more organs have gone to a local or foreign VIP, or some rich man who was able to pay SGH lots of money for the transplant! Hence SGH's determination and "desperation" to get the organs by hook or by crook!

I do not believe this is unfounded allegation or defamatory remarks. I think there is enough cause to raise reasonable doubt and for a reasonable man to make such an fair comment and intelligent deduction - nevermind if they are eventually found out to be true or false.

But that's the point isn't it? The truth of the matter could have been discovered easily if the Matrix Masters choose to have an open inquiry. But no, they would rather have we, the human batteries, cast doubts and aspersion on their integrity day after day all over the internet, than to open an inquiry!

WHY? Are they afraid that an open inquiry with CCTV played and identities of receipients revealed, would back fire upon them by exposing The Truth?

What lesson can we learn from this shameful episode? We learn that Free Speech, Free Press, alternative voice and Human Rights are all very important subjects - we cannot and must not sell away these principles in exchange for some estate upgrading.

Just think for a moment: if you had no internet access, if you had read only Straits Times, would you have known all these? What would have been your conclusion about the entire saga? Who would you be supporting? Who would you be labeling as "selfish"?

Remember: the Sim family is no different from our families - it's a typical Singaporean family! Any one of us - I, you, he, she - could have ended up like them. That's the frightening part.

Without Human Rights and Free Speech, what safeguard do we have against any abuse of power?

Why did the police want to do such a thing? They want to rob another 2 more kidneys, 1 more liver, 1 more heart and 2 more corneas?

Luckily, to her credit, Miss Sim managed not to lose her cool, in spite of her grief, pain and emotional distress. But what about others?

Every day, how many Singaporeans are taunted by the police to commit crimes? 　　我当时就告诉收账公司的人，这是公司与公司之间的债务纠纷，应该去找公司来解决，而不应该找某个人或某个董事。新加坡是一个法治的国家，有必要时可通过法律的途径来解决。可是收账公司的人根本不听我的这些劝告，接下这来这几个人就在我家门口死缠烂打，那时已是晚上12点多钟了，此举严重地骚扰了我的家人和邻里的休息。在这种情形之下我就报了警。

　　警员来后将其劝退。过了两天这些人和上次一样再度上门骚扰。无奈我又报了警，这次他们看到警方人员的到来态度很嚣张。我问警方要怎样制止他们的这种行为？警方回答说他们也没办法，他们要来100次，那你就报警100次。这回答真令我吃惊。如果连警方都没有办法了，那我们百姓又能怎样呢？

　　基此，我就马上去警局报了案，希望能够引起警方的重视，并能有效的遏制这种行为。警方说他们会进行调查。然而，没过几天这些人又一次在凌晨3点多钟把我及我的家人从睡梦中惊醒，当时我非常的气愤，出门与之理论，还险些发生肢体冲突。

　　调查！到底还需要多长时间来调查，难道要等到发生了不该发生的命案，警方才能采取有效的行动吗？我感到自己很无助。即刻写信并附上照片（泼漆）给警察总部，过后警局写信让我约见中央警署一位相关的负责人。由于新年假期，过了一个星期后（3月5日）我满怀希望的去见了这位负责人，可是他却告诉我这种案子可能不归他管。

我说是警局写信告诉我来找你的，他说这是他们内部搞错了。我问到底归哪个部门负责？他说还要问上司。还要等。这到底是怎么一回事，我现在真的是求助无门了。从去年7月份到现在已经8个月过去了，期间：收账公司来我家先后骚扰了10次，我报警7、8次，到警局报案5次，但答复都是在调查中。在新加坡这样的一个法治的国家，竞然连百姓的安危都无法得到保障。我们的政府致力于为人民营造一个良好的经商环境，鼓励新加坡人创业打造一个有活力的新加坡，试问这样的环境谁还敢出来创业、做生意、当董事？我想通过贵报请有关部门能给我一个明确的答复！

Summary: Company A owed money to company B. Company B employed debt collector to harrass Director of company A in the middle of the night. Director explained to police and to debt collector that he, as an individual, is not responsible for his company's debt because the company is private-limited, and any debt issue should be settled via court company-to-company. Police told poor guy (paraphrased): "we cannot do anything. If they harrass you (at 3am) 100 times, you call us 100 times lor".

Paint sprayed on his door. Poor guy harrassed for past 8 months, more than 10 times, called police 7-8 times, made formal police report at police station 5 times and the police had only one answer for him each time: "we are still investigating".

Poor Guy wrote to police HQ. Police HQ pushed to Central Police Station. Central Police Station's officer pushed it to his boss! Poor Guy finally wrote to the press.

Guy asked (paraphrased) : "F you govt la, talk wat shit about encouraging entreprenuership? If an individual can be harrassed in this way for the debt of a private-limited company, and the knnbccb police can say they cannot do anything about it, who the F dare to be entrepreneur and start a company here?"

This is not the first time. The last reported incident i heard was about a doctor who was beaten up by gangsters in Geylang, and the police who arrived said they cannot arrest the gangster! How many more such cases occur unreported?

Our govt organisations do recruit very interesting people: statisticians who are good at answering poltical questions during interview, and police officers who are better at robbing organs than arresting gangsters who beat up others or who harrass and threaten people (who owe no debt) in the middle of the night!

Let's see how much more such mess will be created once the casinoes start operating and more people start going into debt - personal debts, mind you - unlike this case of a private-limited company.

Anyway, the Human Battery reminds himself again of what he wrote earlier about becoming an entrepreneur.

(If the poor victim had ask the police "what do you need to see in order to arrest them", maybe the police would respond with what Neo said? haha! Maybe that's when they will arrest a person? Or will they take cover immediately?)

I read the above from here. I am impressed! The Department of Statistics (DOS) is really good at making sure that they employ the right type of statistician! "Reminds" was the word used by Today Online on Feb 28. Reminds? "The only alternative"?!? In the context of what had happened, this sounded much more like a threat: "Human Batteires, you are hereby warned - your organs belong to us, you had better not opt out, OR ELSE..."

Throughout your life, you have been "reminded" of many things: You have been "reminded" that if you vote for the opposition, your estate will not be upgraded (with tax payers' money). You have been "reminded" that if you don't vote for the Matrix Masters, the army will step in. You have been "reminded" that if you don't shut up, you will be sued till you lao sai!

In fact, you were issued your first "reminder" when you were merely a little boy or girl - if you refuse to study hard, let the Matrix Masters "remind" you that you will be dumped into certain "caste" at 9 years old (streaming used to be at pri 3) and then again at 12, and then again at 16!

And now, even for your own kidneys and corneas, you are "reminded" that if you do not allow the Matrix Master to do with them as it pleases, you will be put at the bottom of some list!

At some point, enough is enough! Is this not the last straw that breaks the camel's back? Show that you do have some bravery (bravery is said to come from the liver - do you still have a liver, or has it been robbed from you?). Opt out of hota - firstly, spare your family any unnecessary distress. Secondly, show your moral support for the Sim family - if there is enough support, there may be a chance that a formal inquiry is conducted to investigate what really happened. But most importantly, demonstrate that while we agree with the principle of hota, we will never agree with the way sgh abused it and the way the police behaved like gangsters!

Sometimes I am amazed by my, ahem, accurate instinct in the way politics works on this scary little Matrix Island. keke.

Some time back, I wrote this. I predicted that in whatever case, whenever the pressure from the public is strong enough, the Matrix Masters will sell out their running dogs, even though those runnings dogs were carrying out their Masters' orders, and that it was from the Matrix Masters that these dogs had learnt their dictatorial and abusive behaviour .

And guess what? It happened! Watch the tv program and contrast it with how Straits Times initially reported it. Both the printed media and TV are govt-controlled. Why the sudden shift from out-right censorship (and lies) to granting interviews on national tv?

I believe that's because the family has been pushing to let more people know about the issue: literally thousands have come to this blog to read the family's letters; Online forums have been carrying them, and people are emailing them to friends too. In fact, the Singapore Democratic Party linked it up on its website, and when that happened, it means foreign human rights advocates who regularly browse its website, get to read it too.

And so, the cover-up is no longer meaningful, and in fact, it will reflect badly on the government, and the credibility of its media. So the Matrix Masters chose a new strategy: let the family member talk about their side of the story (and then censor away the crucial parts e.g.. how the police really behaved), and then on the same program, present the Matrix Masters' side of the story fully, and interview doctors and man-in-the-street to support its case.

After lots of clever editing here and there, they hope that the human batteries can be deceived to reach the false conclusion that the family's better judgement had been eroded by their emotional state, whereas SGH, while not being sympathetic enough, had been acting in good faith.

This is an errorneous conclusion, because there are lots of unanswered question:

why was CT scan (the 1st step of a stroke treatment process) not done within 2 hours of admission, as the Matrix Master had promised?

why were blood tests done to check for the suitability of the kidneys even before brain death was declared (see comment left by Mr. Sim's sister on Fri Mar 09, 12:25:00 AM). The intention to rob the organs seem to be there even while SGH regarded him as alive!

Did the police abuse their authority? Why did they deploy male police officers to restrain and have body contacts with Mr. Sim's sister? Why werent they punished?

Was the receipient of at least one of the organs some VIP or rich foreign patient? If not, why insist on operating even at 1 am etc?

SGH claimed that organs will deterioriate if not harvested immediately. Yet we know that brain-dead patients can been kept alive for years! How can that be possible if the liver and kidneys are not functioning? Clearly there is more to such simple claim. So, it's back to same old question: why the rush?

And most important of all, has hota been abused by SGH?

and that's just to name a few questions. There are many more hard questions if you think about it. None of these dirt will ever come out, unless and until a full inquiry is conducted. Note: there isn't even going to be a Coroner's inquiry!

And that's another reason why the TV program was done. The Matrix Masters were hoping that by allowing the family to say what they want to say, they will find closure, be satisfied and not pursue the case further.

But if the family does pursue the case further - engage lawyer to demand Coroner's inquiry, sue SGH, talk to international human rights organisation e.g. Amnesty International etc - and people opt out of HOTA by the thousands each day (just as people opted out of monthly donation to NKF), that's when the betrayal becomes complete just like how the officers in the commando dunking case were charged in court, and how TT Durai is now in being prosecuted.

By the way, was it not Khaw who said that in the NKF case, he had been the good guy who helped expose Durai?

Haha, soon he will again the "good guy", who helped expose the wrong-doings of SGH!

一名男子忽然狂性大发，拿着斧头和菜刀在组屋下狂奔，被警察逮捕后前早在医院离奇死亡。...死者家属对警方和医院的处理方式不满，怀疑是医院未问明他对药物过敏而为他注射抗生素、或者警方在扣留他时未为他妥善处理刀伤导致病毒感染而丧命。

...警方发言人昨晚受询时说，李德顺在星期一被控拥有攻击性武器，法官下令将他还押心理卫生学院，以检查精神状态。“当他被送到心理卫生学院时，医生检验出他发高烧，于是将他转送到樟宜综合医院治疗。他在星期二清晨6时左右逝世。”

...他的弟弟、女友和母亲星期天下午到警局了解状况。他弟弟说，他们原本打算为李德顺保释，但被警方拒绝，也不许他们探访。

他说，直到前天早上7时左右，警方打电话通知家人，说他哥哥发高烧，情况危急，要他们立刻到医院去。李德顺的妹妹李琪说，他们赶到医院时，李德顺已断气，死亡时间却是早上6时，因此他们对警方还在一个小时后打电话通知说他哥哥情况危急感到费解。

李琪说，她哥哥对盘尼西林有过敏反应，但医院却未联络家人问明情况就为他注射抗生素。院方只告诉家人，当他们发现李德顺呼吸困难，立刻进行心肺复苏术，抢救40分钟后失败，却不提注射抗生素的事。

Nowadays, go hospital very dangerous. Better be careful.

Note:
I am not alleging that the hospital has deliberately not rendered proper medical attention in order to harvest organs. But I am asserting that with or without HOTA, Singapore's hospital medical care has always been terrible to begin with.

Firstly, the ratio of doctors and nurses to patients is not up to developed countries' standard, and secondly there is no check and balance - the judiciary almost always ruled in the favour of doctors in malpracice suits, in its misguided attempt to contain medical cost. Thus there is hardly any motivation for hospitals to improve their procedures or systems. Likewise, doctors are not motivated to be extra careful.

That's not to say we do not have excellent doctors. We do. But the two points mean that mistake due to heavy workload (pt 1). carelessness and apathy (pt 2) is somehow inevitable.

I am expressing my fear that with hota, the possibility of such poor quality care escalating to abuse, becomes very real. Even if it had not happened in this case, it may happen in future or it may already have happened in the past.

Who knows? Nobody knows! No press freedom (zaobao is already quite "daring"). No open inquiry (Police said in the report that there will be a coroner's case for this man, but tell me, will there be one for Mr. Sim?). No freedom of speech. It's a very scary little Island, where all skeletons are kept in closets under double locks! (In NKF's case, the skeletons were buried for more than 10 years).

Hence, nowadays, better go private hospital (Gleneagles, Mt. Elizabeth etc) if can afford. Better be safe than be sorry. Better be called a paranoid, than make our families worry. Peace of mind is everything. To our Matrix Master, the life of human batteries are very cheap...

Foreigners came.
Foreigners saw - 80 yrs old granny cleaning tables.
Foreigners conquered - their illusion that the country is utopia.

They realise quickly that the Matrix Island is good only for making money - via free scholarships all the way from secondary school to university, and through low income tax. When they have leeched enough, they will go back to their own country move on to those truly great countries which take care of their 80 years olds. There, they will give up their wander lust, settle down, have families, raise kids, work hard, pay lots of tax, and become citizens. They know that forcing them to do menial work at 80 years old would not be "the top priority" of those government

And since these foreigners won't make the island their permanent home, what is the point of throwing money at them now? To equip them to become our future competitors, at the expense of Human Batteries? And why should our paid-by-citizens MPs work so hard for these foreigners? It doesn't make any sense...

...that is, until we remember that all policies, big or small, are made by one Matrix Master (MM), who is out of touched with his own people's thinking, let alone the mentality of those foreigners he is trying to woo!

Breach of Contract

"Keeping the elderly employed (at cleaning up tables, washing toilets or some other back-breaking job, at 80 years old) is top priority for the Ministerial Committee on Aging, according to its chairman Lim Boon Heng, who will be spelling out the details of the committee's plans in parliament this week" - Channel NewsAsia 4 Mar 07. Words in parenthesis by this Human Battery.

There is a social contract in every developed (and even developing) country, which works like this: you agree to work and to pay tax to the government for X number of years. In return, upon your retirement, the government agrees to pay you a monthly pension, till you pass on to the next world.

Singapore used to have such a social contract too, and it's called CPF (which is a form of tax). Alas, it has failed, thanks to how the money was siphoned away to pay for unsubsidised public housing and under-subsidised tertiary education, in addition to the low interest rate earned and a host of other reasons, beyond the scope of this short post.

The Matrix Master knows that it has breached its social contract with the Human Batteries. Did it choose to find better ways to fulfill its end of the bargain? For example, increasing earned interest rates for CPF, start subsidising housing so that less cpf need be used for mortgage etc?

No! It chose instead to abandon the contract, and to find ways to "keep the elderly employed". In fact, it made this its "top priority"!

66.6% of Human Batteries said "No problem, Sir. We will oblige and work till we drop dead". They have indeed been conditioned well since young - 1 blue pill a day (courtesy of the Shitty Times) keeps the Oppositions away!

These 66.6% do not seem to realise that they will grow old one day too. They also don't understand that there is such a thing called a cruel twist of fate - no one can guarantee that he will remain rich, healthy and employed his entire life. Most importantly, they dont seem to comprehend what retribution means:

Today, they voted to bully the sick, the poor, the disabled and the aged. Tomorrow, when they themselves become....

THE ABUSE OF HOTA
Insider's Information

This is what they do, when they "beo" your kidneys, liver, eyes, the moment you are admitted to hospital:

Thurs 1 Feb 07:
5 am: admitted to SGH
X am: diagnosed as having had a mild stroke

No active medical treatment (eg. CT scan) given for the next 2 days, plus
- not allowed to urinate in toilet
- hands tied to bed
[thus patient got emotional]
[thus brain condition became worse]

Sat, 3rd Feb 07
[thus patient went into coma]

100+ hours (more than 4 days) later after admission...

Mon, 5th Feb 07
X am/pm:
- did a CT scan, solely to cover SGH's backside (as explained below)
- declared patient as brain dead
- issued death certificate
- immediately wanted to remove organs

100+ hours? 4 days? What the F?

Lee Kuan Yew has told all Singaporeans that in Singapore, anyone who has a stroke, would been given a CT scan "within one-and-a-half to two hours flat". He further explained that our system is superior to the UK system where if someone had a stroke in the middle of the night (as did happened to his wife), he would have to wait for several hours till daytime for a CT scan, because unlike in Singapore, they dont have 24 hours CT scanning facility.

Lee Kuan Yew never lie. And he never ever make any mistake, no matter big or small. His views on the danger of welfarism and free healthcare system are absolute truth cast in stones. Indeed, all of the western healthcare systems, Britain's included, are no match to Singapore's pay-and-pay system.

So since he said so (with his voice almost choking), then that is indeed the time frame that SGH -- he specially mentioned SGH -- has been operating on all these year, before it abused HOTA!

Human Batteries must therefore ask these questions:

Why was Mr. Sim not given his CT scan within 2 hours, which LKY said is the norm?

Why instead did SGH wait till he became unconcious and even then for another 2 days, and then just before harvesting his organs, before finally doing the long over-dued CT scan?

Was the CT scan done, not for treatment purpose - because if it were so, it would have been done within 2 hours, remember? - but to cover SGH's ass, in case someone questions whether the patient was really brain dead or not?

Why was his hands tied? (cannot tell him nicely that he must pee in bed meh?)

No one is against the spirit, principle and good intention of HOTA, but every one is against the abuse of HOTA! So all you pap moles all over the various forums, stop your "the-family-is-selfish" diversion. We know your tricks - you are trying to divert away from the crux of the matter: ABUSE of HOTA!

SGH has "under-treated" and/or delayed rendering treatment to Mr. Sim, in its attempt to harvest organs and this constitutes an abuse of HOTA. Granted, this statement cannot be substantiated fully at this stage (which is why we need a full-scale investigation, as would have been done in a country with real democracy!), but, hey, it is by no means an unfounded allegation - there is probable cause to raise doubt.

Lee Kuan Yew is our star witness. His wise words are our key evidences.

It's time for some history lesson.

In 2003, our Matrix Master (MM) claimed that UK's free health system was very lousy; it had required his wife, who was having a stroke, to wait till the morning before getting a CT scan. He boasted that Singapore's Pay-And-Pay health system was much better:

"We run a (healthcare) system where you have to co-pay ... but you get the attention. There, no attention, just join the queue... In Singapore, within half-an-hour (of having a stroke), you would be in SGH... TTSH... and within one-and-a-half to two hours flat, you'd know what went wrong (because a CT scan would have been done in that time frame)".

I would like to ask Mr. Sim's sibling:

Did poor Mr. Sim has a Computed Tomography (CT) scan - it looks like this - done, at all?
If so, did SGH do it within "2 hours flat" after he was admitted?

I am a very objective Human Battery. So I will reserve my judgement until I read the reply from her. In the mean time, let's refresh our memory of how a commercial airline kicked out its first class and business class passengers for one person:

"Even though doctors initially advised that Mrs Lee stay put in London for three weeks, Mr Lee decided fly her back once her condition stabilised... Within 48 hours, SIA had fitted out SQ321 with medical support of oxygen tanks and other fixtures for a drip. "No other airline would have done this," Mr Lee said, looking visibly touched. On board were also two Intensive Care nurses from Changi General Hospital, two doctors, as well as officials from SIA who made sure all the equipment worked."

So, for his wife, it was a jumbo jet, and with doctors and nurses thrown in too. But for a peasant, the poor man cannot even be put on life support for just one more day!

If Mr. Sim had been on life support, how could it be that his organs would deterioriate if they were not robbed immediately? Thousands of brain-dead people all over the world have survived for years on life support machines!

Oh, by the way, more than 3 years have past. Has that robber, to quote Confucius, paid up the money that he had promised to pay SIA yet? Scuffle for organs sparks donor debate in Singapore

"...But as Sim's 68-year-old mother and about 20 other relatives knelt weeping before the doctors, begging them to wait, nine police officers entered the ward and restrained the distraught family while Sim's body was quickly whisked away.

"The hospital staff were running as they wheeled him out of the back door of the room. They were behaving like robbers," said Sim Chew Hiah, one of Sim's elder sisters".

Wiow, what a hugh contrast compared to the initial report by Straits Times!

Hahaha! What happened?

Well, our Matrix Master (MM) is not stupid. As it realises that forummers and bloggers are getting some sense of the truth, it will start to take action - it will reveal some truth, distance itself from the wrong-doers, pretend that they were not acting under its (indirect) command, and even turn around to punish them instead!

By doing so, it hopes it can minimise political damage to itself. That's precisely what happened in the NKF and commando dunking case, and today, under pressure, the English press is finally revealing some truth！

The morals of the story?

Running dogs should quit having this yaya PAPaya attitude: "If I do as ordered by my Matrix Master, it will back me up when people complain about me". Wrong! When the tide is turned against you, the matrix masters will simply betray you in order to save its own ass!

Free Speech and Free Press are very very important because they act as effective check and balance against abuse of power. They will force the authority to be accountable for events that have already occured. But more importantly, in the long run, they will make those in power think twice before abusing their power, since they know that whatever they do can be exposed easily.

We should not forget that NKF, Commando Dunking, Organ Robberies are all just the result of a corrupted leadership. If the pillar at the top is straight, the lower pillars won't be crooked either! 上梁不正下梁歪！ We should not allow the Matrix Master to distance itself from wrong-doings at the lower level!

In a way, we have "won". The Matrix Master has been forced to reveal some truth.

But that's not enough. More truth will come out and the police officers may even be charged with abuse of power in court, if pressure is kept up.

For example, if the Matrix Master senses that the Sim family, as well as sympathetic Human Batteries all over the Island, is gravitating towards Uncle Yap and the likes of him, why would it want such a situation? It might as well stand up for the family itself, than let others - in fact, its political rival! - be the good guy.

The time will come for the Matrix Masters to make a choice, and guess who they will be sacrificing this time to cover their own ass?

Dear family of the late Mr. Sim,

Initially, many singaporeans pitied your family. But, thanks to the Health Minister's clarification, Singaporeans now know that actually Mr. Sim was an educated man who had known everything about HOTA. It was your family who had been at fault for having no respect for his wish to save lives, and that's why the police had to step in to make sure you people showed some respect!

Our government is a very honest government; it will never lie to its citizens. So we all believe what Mr. Khaw said. I have only one little question for you: why was the very educated Mr. Sim working as a forklift operator?

Mr Khaw said: "The donor was (probably) around 21 or 22 when HOTA was introduced in this House. I remember there was widespread public debate. He was an educated man. 听一听卫生部长，在国会里, 是如何向全国人民解释此事吧！亲眼读一读，他如何说明沈先生是个受过高教育的知识分子，非常了解 hota, 非常愿意捐献器官, 因此我们应该尊重他的意愿！

你们呢？有没有专家在替你们出头？没有！一个都没有。只有一个表面上说一大把话，却连个身份都不敢透露的电池人, 以及和他一样不敢透露姓名的读者！

还好有这么一个人 - 他公开姓名，身份。他说愿意帮你们联络外国媒体，国际人权组织，揭穿真相。既然公开说了，自然不能，也不会反悔。他不像电池人一样是个缩头龟 -- 他曾无怨无悔地站在那 Neo 身边，一同面对警察的凌辱, 也曾为正义做过牢。他是个敢伸张正义的人。那你们还在等什么？对了，那 Neo 好像也学过心理学，正好可以拿来对付那些“通讯专家”！

Damn it, it's not "hospital staff". It's police officers. That's right, police officers employed by the goverment. Police officers paid for by tax-payers money. Police officers who are supposed to serve citizens and treat innocent citizens with civility!

Instead, this was what they did.

No wonder Channel NewsAsia has to change "police officers" to "hospital staff", to protect the Matrix Masters (MM). Maybe Channel NewsAsia is trying to compete with the Straits Times to see who can go below 146th in world press freedom ranking. Haha!

And neither was it a "dead man". I will not go into the nitty gritty of how medical definition of brain death keeps changing as medical science advances. Suffice to say: this man's heart is still beating and if his family wants to keep him on life support forever and are willing to pay for it, their human rights must be respected. His life should not have been terminated before they are ready to give up on him! But wait, in fact, in this case, the family was not asking for "forever"; They demanded requested asked kneeled down to beg for just one more day. ONE!

Calling the poor victim a "dead man" is a clear cut attempt on Channel NewsAsia's part to administer blue pills to us. Yucky blue pills. Poor taste!

So, you were fully aware of how the police treated "Ah Neo". But you didn't care. You couldn't be bothered. You didn't want to support him. You kept consoling yourself: "Oh, that's because he is a politician mah . He had only himself to blame. They wouldn't do such things to me - a diam diam (quiet), guai guai (obedient) Human Battery".

You were WRONG!

Let me give you the insider's information of how more than 20 police men and security guards treated ordinary citizens worse than they had treated Chee. That's right, worse! In Chee's case, the police knew that it was under the watchful eyes of foreign journalists and their cameras. So they tried as hard as they could to appear civilised. But away from the public's view, this is how they treated ordinary citizens: (emphasis and colours added by me).

Mr Policeman, are you Professional?

I am writing with regards to the recent tussle at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on 6 February 2006 in relation to the removal of organs of my cousin, Sim Tee Hua (the deceased).

The incident has attracted much attention from the media, and what happened that fateful night has drastically changed my perception of the professionalism of the police force in Singapore. I had always believed in what the government prided about our police force - a professional well-trained force, possessing the ability to handle all contingencies and are always well-prepared to handle all kinds of scenarios - moreover, a Singapore Quality Award (SQA) standard agency.

However, what I witnessed at SGH on 6 February 2007 (at about 1 am) were policemen who acted as if they were superior and greater than others, unlike the friendly police that the government pictured them to be.

The so-called professionally trained policemen we (I and my relatives) encountered that night were not at all friendly, warm or even professional. There was no calm advice or words of comfort given. Instead, they were yelling out orders like we were some second, third class citizens who were not worth a mention. Some of the policemen were aggressive and rough. Is this our so-called professionally trained police? If this is so, I am terribly worried for our country's future.

During our exchange that night, I had previously highlighted some potential problems to the policemen which might occur:-

(1)My auntie (the deceased's mother) is old and has heart problems. If the authorities insisted on the removal of the Tee Hua's organs by force, it may agitate and add on to her grief and I was afraid that she might suffer a heart attack as a result.

(2)And if she (Tee Hua's mother) were to suffer a heart attack, her children would definitely be even more emotionally uncontrollable. Who knows what might happen next?

(3)That night, the deceased's mother and sisters were still reeling from anguish over his sudden 'death'? and were unable to manage their emotions. Hence, handling the matter authoritatively would undeniably cause a heated uproar.

(4)I had pointed out to them (the policemen) that many times, the root causes of many confrontations between two parties or more were that the matters were improperly handled with inadequatesensitivity and that the parties did not have (sufficient) avenues to voice out their thoughts.

(5)Moreover, other patients would be affected if a confrontation were to occur in the hospital. I had already suggested to the police and the hospital staff that they carefully consider the undesirable consequences.

In the end, the authorities decided to use force (to proceed with the removal of the deceased's organs) and an ugly confrontation took place. A few of the policemen acted boorishly and they were even more tensed up than us (the family members of the deceased)! The policemen even commanded and rebuked my relatives. Despite our grief, some of us even had to calm the policemen down. It was fortunate that my male relatives were relatively more composed, otherwise the situation might have gotten out of control.

(1) Ten male policemen were unable to control the deceased's emotionally unstable sisters and the struggle lasted for 15 minutes. (It was reported in medical studies that the strength of a person who is emotionally unstable is ten times more than at normal).

[Human Battery: Eh, I thought they have platoons of female police officers to handle female citizens? No meh? I saw that on TV when they confronted Chee Siok Chin outside CPF building and at Hong Lim Park! Oh I see, in Chee's case, the police put up a public wayang show for us to see. Away from public's eye, they actually sent 10 male police officers to grab a female citizen for 15 minutes! Ta Ma De!]

(2) In the midst of the confrontation, the deceased was forcefully pushed into the operating theatre through another door without our knowledge. The Tee Hua's mother who was in the ICU fell down to the floor in the midst of the chaos. The deceased's sisters who were outside the ICU, upon seeing that their mother had fallen, requested to the approximately 10 policemen who were guarding the ICU entrance to allow one or two of them to go in and take a look at their mother (in case she really suffered a heart attack as feared). To our horror, our request was bluntly rejected and a policewoman rudely ordered us to shut up!

(3)Just as the deceased was being forcefully pushed into the operating theatre, a policeman who was guarding the door taunted my cousin-in-law (by using hand gestures), challenging him to dash into the operating theatre. This caused even more frustration to the already grieving, emotionally disconcerted family members of the deceased. May I ask, should this be how a professionally trained police officer be behaving under the circumstances where a family who had just witnessed a loved one being wheeled into the operation room for organs removal and they could do nothing to protect him?

(4) After the deceased was pushed into the operating theatre, my 15-year-old nephew who was relatively more calm started to comfort my cousins. An insensitive policeman actually yelled at my nephew, rudely ordering him to stay silent! Should he (that policeman) not have been more thoughtful and compassionate?

(5)The 20 to 30 policemen and security officers present were entirely of no help and they were unable to manage just a few of my emotional female cousins. Had it been the brothers or male friends of the deceased who were emotionally agitated, the situation would have been even more heated and out of control.

(6)Of the 20 of us, there were 15 females, most of which were rational and trying to comfort the emotionally agitated ones. If the police could not effectively handle a few women, would they be able to handle a riot?

(7)Had the police and the hospital staff heeded my advice and considered my concerns that night, there could have been a win-win situation for all of us and this unnecessary tussle would certainly have been avoided.

(8)Should not a professionally trained police force be able to foresee and plan for possible contingency? In the midst of carrying out their duties, the emotions of the public should not be so insensitively disregarded.

(9)Would the outcome be different if the police and hospital had reported the matter to higher authorities? What will the consequences be if the deceased's mother really suffered a heart attack as a result of the heartrending confrontation which has been handled so inconsiderately? ?is this the outcome all parties wish to expect?

(10) On that night, the police and the hospital staff handled the matter thoughtlessly to the extent of using force and authority to wheel the deceased into the operating theatre, despite our cries of objection. They did not take into account the feelings of the deceased's family members; naturally, the family still harbored hope (though announced brain dead, the deceased's heart was still beating g). By such indiscreet actions, the police and hospital had cruelly dashed any hopes the family had left to save the deceased. Their insensitivity and no-room-for-peaceful-settlement approach was the main reason for the cause of this confrontation.

(11) We requested for another night, which is to wait till Wednesday 8pm for the transplant to take place if my cousin did not regain consciousness by then. In fact, our family did not have any objections in donating the organs to needy patients. Moreover, the deceased was a very helpful person when he was alive, and without doubt he would have loved to leave his organs for better use in this world. However, our small request was not acceded to, leading to the ugly situation. May I ask, could what happened that night be avoided if they had displayed more humanity and compassion when communicating with the deceased's family members? The organ transplant officer wanted to help and diffuse the situation but her hands were tied. Wouldn't the situation had been better resolved if someone of a higher authority were around to speak to the deceased's family members?

针对中央医院发生家属与警察冲突事件，让我对我国的警察专业程度有了很大的改观。向来我都很相信政府所说的，我国的警察是一支很专业的部队，都有受过专业的训练，能应付一切的突发事故并在各方面做好准备。

但是那天（2007年2月6日星期二凌晨一点多）我在中央医院所看到的的警察，切是数十年留传下来当警察高人一等的专制做风，不是如政府所说的现代警察要打好警民关系，政府还劝导家长不要以警察吓唬小孩子，来提高现代警察的亲民形象。

可是当晚我所看到的所谓受过现代化专业训练的警察，处事粗糙有几位警察的行为都很粗暴，说话行为很专横、以长官命令式的做风处理事件，而不是以温和劝导的方式说服我们，请问这样的警察如何提高亲民形象？这就是所谓受过专业训练的警察吗？如果是的话我很为我国的前途担忧。

事发当晚的调解过程中，我曾经提出可能出现的问题如下：

(1) 我阿姨（死者母亲）年纪大又有心脏病，如果强行采取行动我阿姨受了刺激，怕会引发心脏病暴发。

(2) 如果我阿姨心脏病暴发，可能会引起子女的情绪失控，而出现无法预料的后果。

(3) 当晚我阿姨和我表妹（死者姐妹）的情绪还相当激动，更不适合以强硬的手段强行处理，恐怕会引起强烈的冲突场面。

(4) 我还向他们指出世界各地的暴动事故，很多时候都是因为很小事故，因情绪无处宣泄，处理不当而引发希望他们了解。

(5) 而且这里是医院，如果引发冲突可能会对其他病人造成影响，希望警方与院方商量考虑后果。

结果在强行采取行动过程中，果真引发冲突，而在冲突过程中，几位警察的行为很粗暴，情绪比我们还激动，并且以命令式的口气喊叫辱骂我的亲戚，什至需要我们去安抚他们冷静下来，还好我们几位男性亲友都很清醒，否则场面可能完全失控，而造成更大事故。

（1）当晚整10位男警员控制不了我的两位情绪失控的表妹（死者的姐妹），而且拉扯15分钟。（医学研究人在情绪失控下体力可暴增几陪於平时）

（2）冲突过程中我的表弟（死者），届时己被推进了手术室，而我阿姨（死者母亲）跌倒在地上，在走廊外的姐妹向驻守在门外的整10位警察说：我表弟（死者）己被推进手术窒，是否可让我一两位姐妹进去看我阿姨（怕心脏病暴发），但是不被接受，什至有位女警还以命令式的口气叫她住口，一副气势凌人的样子。

（3）在我的表弟（死者）被强行推进手术室时，驻守在手术室门外的一位警察，还以挑衅式的手式叫我的表妹夫往前冲向他，以制造混乱埸面，请问这是受过专业训练警察的行为吗？

（4）当晚我表弟（死者）被推进手术室后，我的外甥（15岁）在安抚我表妹情绪时，有位警察还大声喊骂我外甥别吵，而不是温和的鼓励我外甥我安抚表妹，什至我表姐被允许进入房间劝导外甥女时，有位警察还相当激动的叫骂，请问这样的行为对吗？

（5）当晚在医院内外的2、30位警察与院方警卫，完全无法真正控制我的几位情绪失控的姐妹，如果当晚情绪失控的是我的兄弟或表弟（死者）朋友，那埸面一定很火暴，而警方与院方好像没把它考虑在内。

（6）当晚我们家属约有20人其中5个男性而其它都是女流之辈，大多数女性亲戚也都很理智的劝导其他几位情绪失控的女性亲戚，警方都无法有效的控制埸面，如果遇到暴动，请问我们的警察是否能应对考验？

（7）如果警方与院方都有考虑我当晚提出的意见，是否就可平息这不必要的纠纷，正如政府时常强调的两羸局面，而不是双输局面。

（8）一支专业训练的警察部队，是否应把所有可能会出现的问题都考虑在内，不应忽视当事人的感受认为市井小民人微言轻言不足信。而太过高估自己权力与实力，以至引发不必要的后果？

（9）当晚如果警方与院方都能向高层汇报局势，是否会有不同的结果？如果当晚我阿姨（死者母亲）心脏病暴发，而引发伤亡事故那是警方与院方所希望看到的结果吗？

（10）当晚警方与院方的处理手段很粗糙，采取强硬行动把脑死还有心跳的表弟(死者)强行推进手术室，没有考虑死者家属的感受（因为死者还有心跳），以至死者家属希望破灭引发情绪失控，是造成冲突事故的主导因素。

（11）我们要求多一天至星期三晚上八点，如果表弟(死者)还是不能苏醒我们就接受院方所说表弟己死，并且答应捐献死者器官造福他人。而且我们也知道死者生前乐於助人，希望在他往生时也能帮助别人遗爱人间，但是我们小小的要求不被接受，以至引发当晚的不愉快场面，请问当晚事故真的是无法避免吗？当晚那位器官移植协调员限于她的职权以至有心无力，但是当晚真的没有一位比较理智的其他决策者吗？

Oh, I should point out that the closely-knitted family combined all their resources and brainstormed to draft these letters. They sent them to our 146th-ranked newspapers. They were not published.

Bloggers amd forummers, tell me, why are you blogging about the politics and current affairs of this Matrix Island? Is it not because you want to "expose the truth", to provide an alternative view that the "main-stream media" refuse to publish? Is it not because you are for truth and for justice?

If you answer yes, then this is the opportunity. Here is a family that wants help to expose the truth. My blog's traffic is nothing. Some of you have way much higher traffic than me. Some of you post regularly to various online forums. Quote what the family wrote. Provide a link to my blog so that readers can judge the authenticity of the letters for themselves, when they read first-hand the comments that his sister left. Help spread the truth.

Remember how the Matrix Masters initially hid the truth about the commando dunking "murder"? Remember how they eventually had a full investigation leading to a court case, when more and more people exposed the truth on online forums? Help this poor family as you have helped in the other case.

Lest some of you decide that this doesn't concern you, let me remind you again that if it can happen to a politician, it can happen to an ordinary citizen. And since it has already happened to an ordinary citizen, it can happen to you and I and our loved ones. Not the same type of incidents, but some other time, some other place, some other event, yet the same abuse, even when we are completely innocent and totally obedient...

Aftermath of Organ Robbery

My blog is most honoured to have been visited by a family member of Mr. Sim, whose organs were forcibly robbed from him by the government and its police force. This was what Mr. Sim's sibling wrote on my blog - I edited it for clarity:

"I am his sister. To be honest, (in answer to your question) we don't feel any better yet. In fact, the worst is right now - during the Chinese New Year. This is the worst, most horrible and terrible, and nightmarish Chinese New Year our family and relatives have ever had - especially for my mother.

No counsellor has been sent by SGH or MOH, since that night. In fact, it's the other way round - we tried to contact the counsellor ourselves. We left her messages but till to date, she has neither responded nor replied!

Even on the police's side - we feel that we have been treated like criminals by them. Yet the ironical truth is that they were the ones who had commited ("legal"?) robbery!

I wonder how long this nightmare - horrible and yet so real - is going to last. Or will it never end? Is this just the beginning (of our life-long torment)?"

My blog was linked by some reader in some online forum which discussed this topic. So probably that's how it eventually got to one of the family member. In any case, I believe this is the comment of a genuine visitor. You can read for yourself, her unedited comment on Fri Feb 23, 07:22:00 pm (plus a few others before that)

In her own words, she was hoping that "maybe (I) can help" her write the truth. This is a family belonging to the lower strata of our elitist society. Its voice has been drowned out by the disproportionately much more vocal English-speaking minority that dominates the ruling class, its legitimate rights curtailed by the uncaring elites, and its people marginalised by the elitist government.

It is desperate for a voice to hear its side of the story, but to whom can it go? The main-stream media spun lies against them. The counsellor couldn't even be bothered to respond to their cry for help. And the supposedly independent internet is in reality, only open to those who can express themselves in reasonably-fluent English -- a foreign language actually, if you think about it objectively, for the larger part of our society.

I hope every of my reader will help publicise the voice of this family - you can quote what she wrote, on online forums that you visit, or on your blog. You can offer condolonces by leaving a comment -- if the counsellor refuses to do her job, let's us do our little bits on her behalf, even though we are no professionals in counselling.

It's not just standing up for others. We are doing it for our own karma too. Remember what Martin Niemoller said!

What happened is a disgrace. And what occurred in the aftermath (newspaper's lies, counsellor's attitude) is nothing short of shame!

Background story: This is an ex-student of a private school. Her student visa was cancelled by the Immigration department, since she is no longer a student. She requested an extension, and it was granted. Twice in fact. But then she requested an extension for the 3rd time, till her O-level result is released, so she said. The immigration department refused this 3rd extension and so she wrote to the Chinese press to complain some time ago. This is her second letter, this time to thank the Members of Parliament of Ang Mo Kio and their secretaries who "upon reading (her) letter" rendered "timely help" to settle the visa problem for her.

Now, I cannot comment on whether the extension is justified or not, since I am no privy to the reason why it was denied in the first place. But what I want to comment on is this:

Nowadays, our Members of Parliament are sooooo busy! Not only do they have to help Singaporeans, they have to help foreigners too! That's right, the girl is not even a PR yet. And in fact, the girl did not even approach Ang Mo Kio's MPs! The MPs and their secretaries, on their own initiatives, came to her help, after reading her letter! Amazing!

And this blue-pill dispensing man still "dare" to talk about how late into the night PAP's meet-the-people session can go. Of course, it has to be so late. It is going to be even later in the future, as we take in more foreigners to make up the 6.5 million population. Haha!

Oh, is there a separate queue for Singaporeans, or are we supposed to queue behind if we arrive at the meet-the-people session after a foreigner did? Hmm, I think I can answer this question myself: nope, there is no need to queue behind foreigners. And that's because only Singaporeans need to seek out their MPs. For foreigners, MPs will seek you out!

Haha, what a way to cultivate a new loyal PAP voter. That's right -- start them young, while they are still foreigners, and even before they become PR! See how thankful the girl is :)

This is how the 146-ranked Straits Times reported the organ-robbing news:

"Feb 8, 2007

...Nine police officers and about 10 hospital security staff members were involved in the three-hour confrontation before the matter was resolved peacefully and doctors performed the operation...".

That's a blatant lie. Contrast it with Lianhe Zaobao's reporting, which clearly described how the 3-hour confrontation occured only after the operation was forcibly carried out.

This difference is very great. The Straits Times wanted you to believe this: First, confrontation occurred. Then family cooled down after 3 hours, then family agreed to the operation, then the operation was performed peacefully.

No so! This was what happened: First, family was tricked to leave ward, then patient was wheeled away, then family members saw and cried and wanted to rush in, but were physically blocked by police, then the family was so outraged that they confronted the police for the next 3 hours *AFTER* the operation was forcibly carried out.

In fact, the good LianHe Zaobao report included the time:

9:30pm
- police tricked family to go out of the ward.
- Organs forcibly robbed.
- Family tried to rush in but blocked physically by police.
- Sister bit hand of police.
- Sister cuffed and imprisoned for 30 minutes.

3 hours confrontation started.

4:00am
- family cooled down and claimed the body.

So you see? The Straits Times painted a rosy pro-government picture where though there was some initial confrontation, all was well and good by the time the operation took place. The truth is that the operation was more "like a robbery" (according to the victim's sister), the injustice so great that the family staged a 3-hour confrontation after being robbed of their son/brother. And that's a very hugh difference!

So you tell me, what kind of shit newspaper is this Straits Times? It cannot be trusted at all! If not this human battery is effectively billingual, he would have been fooled by this blue pill of a shitty time. Not only is the reporting a lie, it covered up many embarrassing details too:

Family knelt and pleaded? Censored and replaced with vague erroneous term: "confrontation"!

Family tricked to leave ward? Censored!!

Sister bit hand of police? Distorted to become "aunt tried to bite"!!!

Police handcuffed and imprisoned sister? Censored!!!!

　　中央医院准备为一名中风脑死的病人进行器官移植手术时，家属以病人还有心跳以及“所祈问的神明说病人即将清醒”为理由，一再要求院方将手术延迟。院方不答应家属要求，结果家属于昨天凌晨在医院与到场维持秩序的警察发生肢体冲突。

　　起重机操作员沈智华（45岁）上星期四凌晨约4时在工作时跌倒，送院急救后医生诊断他因脑血管阻塞中风，上身轻微麻痹，但意识仍清醒。

　　沈智华的大哥沈智荣（49岁）受访时告诉本报，弟弟清醒后，一直不能相信自己会中风，又因为在一次要求下床小解被护士拒绝，加上双手又被绑的情况下，情绪因而激动。

　　在沈智华69岁的母亲和10多名家属集体下跪苦苦哀求后，院方同意延至前晚（星期二）10时才进行器官移植。

　　后来，沈智华家属再请示神明，而被“告知”沈智华会在昨晚8时醒来，家属因此希望院方再通融到晚上8时。

家属警员对峙3小时

　　沈智荣说，院方基于弟弟的器官开始衰竭，而且移植手术都安排妥当，在前晚9时30分通知他和表哥两人，希望他们能劝服亲人，好让院方能及时进行移植手术。

　　他说，正当他们试图游说时，院方及警方分别要求所有家属到病房外和医生讨论。而他们一离开病房，立刻有五六名工作人员把沈智华从另一扇门推去手术室，而想冲上前抢人的家属则被挡在门前的警员阻拦，家属激动之下和警方发生了肢体冲突，除了推撞哭喊之外，沈智华的妹妹沈秋兰还咬伤一名警员的手臂。

　　32岁的沈秋兰说，院方这样的做法“形同抢劫”，而当时现场共有20多名警察和医院职员。

　　沈秋兰叙述，她在被警员挡在门外时，气愤不已地咬了警察后被反手铐住，并被关在一个房间内约30分钟。

　　家属跟警员对峙了近3小时，最后在院方职员和护士的安抚下，心情才慢慢平复下来，在昨天凌晨4时办理了手续，将遗体领出。沈智华捐出4个器官，包括两个肾脏和一对眼角膜。

　　警方发言人在接受本报查询时说，警方仍在调查这起事件。

调查 your lan cheow! What more is there to investigate? The poor man's organs have already been removed against his family's wish! Let this human battery give you his investigation report: the time between his very first mild stroke and his brain death is just 2 days. This brings into question what medication and/or treatment the hospital did or did not administer to its patient in those crucial two days.

Perhaps, the hospital has intentionally not seek to aggressively treat this potential organ "donor", so that they have a higher chance of transplanting his organs? Note that this is not an unfounded wild accusation at all, given the context - SGH's extreme, unusual enthusiasm to remove his organs: the 20 police officers and staffs, the tricks planned to divert the family away, etc. There are valid grounds to make such allegations.

At worst, I think we have witnessed our first case of abuse of the Human Organs Transplant Act (HOTA). At best (which is also terrible), we have just seen the extent our hospitals and police force will go, to cut us up against our families' wishes, and despite our families pleading and begging and kneeling!

On this Matrix Island, we are literally Human Batteries. Alive, we are expected to serve our Matrix Master till our last breath . But even in death, we are still expected to serve them, and if it takes 20 police officers and staff to get us to serve them our organs, they will do it!

Right after blogging this, the Human Battery is going to get the application form to opt out of HOTA. Donating our kidneys and corneas in the event of our unfortunate brain death, is one thing. The authority forcing its way through, despite our aged parents crying and begging and kneeling, is another totally different thing.

Oh, by the way, HOTA applies only to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents. If you are a foreigner, there is no need for your aged parents to kneel. Nope, your parents will be politely asked: "Excuse me Sir, would you like to donate...". And if your parents bellowed: "How dare you ask? No!", the staff will say "sorry", and then meekly retreat and leave them they to grieve quietly. They won't have to face 20 police officers and staffs!

Do you visit sammyboy.com's Alfresco Coffee Shop? Not the sex forum, but the political one, I mean. I do. Sometimes for the insiders' scoop, sometimes for gossips and sometimes, well, just to "balance" my sanity after reading the 146-ranked newspaper.

Once in a while, there will be a gem and today, I stumbled upon an old one :). I will archive it here for my future reading pleasure. This is probably how Little Lee's 2004 PM swearing in speech would sound like, to those who have taken the red pill and left the Matrix. Hahaha.

LET'S RUIN OUR FUTURE TOGETHER

Mr Prata-man, ass lickers and cock-suckers, and peasants,

KNNBCCB. It is high time that I am finally sworn in as the Prime Minister of Singapore. You all should be grateful for my patronizing support, and you all should do your utmost to serve me.

Entering Politics

The army was too small for my ambitions in 1984, so father told Ah Goh that I will be entering politics. I had gone to university on government scholarships, was a white horse in the army, and benefited from the dynastic system. As a boy, I had watched father messing up Singapore, causing Singapore to be kicked out of Malaya. Then, as a young man I saw it grow against tremendous odds, and in spite of the incompetence of the MIW. Those were my formative years, and it sucks.

I wanted to contribute to the Singapore cock-up story. Entering politics was a way to do this. Since then, I have been a partner-in-crime in the government with Ah Goh for 20 years.

Swearing at Ah Goh

I am sore with Mr Goh for his poor guidance and incompetence through these years as eunuch, seat warmer and fall guy. As Prime Mini-star, Ah Goh has failed his promise to keep Peasantland thriving and growing. He has done much harm. He built a cock-up team, dragged Singaporeans into two recessions which affected all of us, and drove many peasants closer to suicide.

Today's Peasantland is quite different from the country that Ah Goh took over in 1990. It still bears the imprint of my father and the founder generation, but it has grown gay and effeminate with Ah Goh's softer touch. Today's Peasantland is into vibrator and gay sex, as well as anal and oral sex. It is in sync with the gay times, and ready for tomorrow's challenges. In his own ways, Ah Goh has transformed and transvestited Peasantland.

Tonight, on behalf of all peasants, I swear at Ah Goh for his stinking and helpless service to the nation, and for his cock-up contributions to Peasantland as Prime Mini-star. KNNBCCB.

The Despair of Our Nation

I am deeply conscious of my privileges as Prime Mini-star. My Cabinet colleagues should be thankful they have me, my fellow Members of Parliament should be thankful I have confidence in them, and my peasants should be thankful they have the support of me and my team. I will strive to be an egoistic star for all peasant.

I am glad many peasants from many backgrounds are here to join me for tonight's ceremony – beggars, thieves, robbers, murderers, rapists, terrorists, Straits Times journalists and many others.

I would also like to acknowledge the many more peasants who are watching this ceremony over television, and especially the residents of Ang Mo Cock GRC and Tecko Ghee, who have no chance to vote against me for these twenty years. Tonight's occasion belongs to all peasants.

Together, you represent the desperation and poverty of our nation. Your desperate situations which drove you to consider suicide symbolise the different multi-coloured threats of your lives into the Peasantland tapestry - the despair of our nation.

You are one nation together, ruining a future for yourselves and your people. As you all stagnate, no communities will progress and everyone will be left behind. We will not be able to look after the less educated and the elderly who have helped build Peasantland. And we must not have a sentimental place in our hearts and our lives for the disabled, who we disown as brothers and sisters.

An Old Generation

This political transition is not just a change of Prime Mini-stars, or of a Cabinet. It is a generational change for Peasantland, a shift to the post-kicked-out-of-Malaya generation in a post-Cold War world.

The majority of peasants today were born after 1965, after being kicked-out from Malaya. They grew up in a different Peasantland compared to their parents. My Government will stay out of tune with their needs and aspirations. We must suppress the energy and minds of our people, and not involve them in the choices which affect their lives. That way, every peasant can have no hand in big ways and small, in shaping our common future.

Our next generation of leaders must come from our post-kicked-out-of-Malaya generation. Ah Goh was cock-sucking for foreign talent long before he became Prime Mini-star in 1990. This was how I entered politics in 1984, in my early 30s, together with four ministers now in my Cabinet, plus the Speaker. This process of renewal has not continued with each successive general election.

Hence leadership succession will be one of my lowest priorities. We must continue to search for younger peasants in their 30s and 40s to purge and keep away from the team, to inject new members from the Exceptional Familee and to prepare for nepotism at all levels - ministers, MPs, at the grassroots, in the trade unions.

Therefore do not wait to be invited to the ISD cold room, but step forward to make a difference to yourselves, to your fellow peasants, and to Peasantland. Let us ruin our future together.

A Closed and Exclusive Peasantland

We are just a little red dot but we think we are a global city linked to the whole world, offering exciting opportunities and experiences. We are a closed multiracial and backward society. We think we enjoy a good reputation in the world. Because we have come far short, we can now set lower goals for ourselves, and sink further.

We want to build a dull and uncompetitive economy. That is the way to lose good jobs, and impoverish the lives of all our peasants. Without the resources that come from growth, we cannot achieve much. But ruin is not our only goal, nor is economic recession an end in itself.

We all want to brainwash our children. As we sink, we cannot afford to invest more in our young, and we will not do so. We do not want our young to think independently, to explore confidence, and to pursue their passions. We must not nurture them into stout-hearted, upright adults. Brain-washing is not just about training for jobs. It is about closing doors for our children, and not giving them hope and opportunities. It is more than emptying a vessel with knowledge - it is to douse a fire in our young people. They are not our future.

We will continue to constrict the space which peasants have to live, to laugh, to grow and to be ourselves. Our peasants should not be allowed to express diverse views, pursue unconventional ideas, or simply be different. They should not have the confidence to engage in robust debate, so as to understand our problems, conceive fresh solutions, and open up new spaces. They should not recognise many paths of success, and many ways to be a talent. We must not give peasants a second chance, for those who have tasted success may be the wiser and rebellious ones among us. Ours must be a closed and exclusive Peasantland.

Even as we pursue individual persecutions, we must also deepen our sense of failure and identity crisis. We can be manic-depressive only if we are in depression together. Our brainwashing in school and national service, our suppressed joys and sorrows, our yearning to migrate, our strife with family and friends - all these reinforce our sense of wanting to migrate. Already, a Peasant is readily recognisable anywhere in the world. We must continue to widen our migration options, with each man for himself. Our disunity gives us the resilience to be killed in every storm and fail as an independent nation.

Adapting to a Changing World

Our future is full of despair, but we must be prepared for the unexpected. In a globalised world, we must re-think our assumptions, take timid and dull approaches and do not adapt to changing conditions.

We depend on an unstable and war-torn Asia, and will have to stay alert for signs of peace in the region or the world. A warming in cross-straits relations can derail recession throughout Asia. The war on terrorism can strain our racial and religious harmony. We must not help our less educated, older workers to learn new skills otherwise they will steal your jobs. And we must stir up complex and sensitive issues such as the ageing population, emigration, and encouraging more peasants to get married and have more babies.

We will not overcome each new problem, as we have always done - by being in denial, by suppressing it, and by ignoring the problems. Only then can we sink under the weight of our problems, and bring our peasants and our country to new depths.

Ruining the Next Chapter

Our prospects are worse than ever before. Our economy is slowing fast again. We are poorly positioned at the centre of a region that is a hot bed of religious extremists and terrorism. There are plenty of risks for all of us if we ever make any effort to pursue opportunities. Peasant companies and businessmen are fleeing to all over Southeast Asia, China, India, and increasingly in the Middle East and further afield. As a nation, we are weaker, less cohesive, and have less resources than ever before. The future is ours to ruin.

Let us strive to keep Peasantland a hot spot in an uncertain world, close to all for business, unsafe for citizens and friends, a war zone that saddens our hearts every time we return from our travels.

Let us ruin a nation where every citizen has no place, where none can live in dignity and harmony, and where we all do not have the opportunity to raise our children and realise our dreams.

Let us be a static city that is closed and exclusive, a despotic society that is cruel and uncaring, and a unsure people with brain-washed minds and cold hearts.

Join me to ruin this next chapter of the Peasantland story. Work with me to make Peasantland a home we hate, a community we do not belong to, and a country we are ashamed to call our own.

Double Jeopardy

“独眼龙”涉嫌枪杀“牛奶猪”
控方修改控状独眼龙照旧面对死刑

　　。。。去年3月间，独眼龙被引渡回新加坡后被控谋杀罪。去年8月初，控方修改控状，以触犯军火法令第4（1）节条文的罪名提控他。控状指他于去年2月15日清晨6时55分至7时11分之间，在实龙岗4道第223座2楼组屋用点22口径Beretta手枪连开6枪，意图对林福顺（40岁，外号牛奶猪）造成伤害。

　　根据这节条文，任何人使用或企图使用军火，罪成时可被判处死刑. 前天，控方要求在上述控状内加入第4（2）节条文。根据这节条文，任何人一旦使用或企图使用军火，就能假设他有意致伤人，除非他能提出与此相反的证据。这节条文的刑罚跟第4（1）节是一样的，同为死刑。。。

I am no lawyer, but common sense tells me that when a judge allows a prosecutor to amend the charges that an accused is facing just before the end of a trial -- mind you, it's not even in the middle of the trial -- it is most unfair to the accused.

This is even more so, when the amendment is to shift the burden of proof to the accused!

It is unfair because when you are accused of A, you may defend yourself thus: "Nope, I did not do A, I was doing B, and these are the evidences...". Then, the prosecutor drops charge A and now charges you for doing B, based on the evidence you presented to defend yourself against A. Then if it turns out that the judge finds you not guilty of B, the prosecutor now claims that your account in court,while defending against crime A and B, proves that you have committed C and re-charges you again, and again, and again! A country with a good legal system will not allow such nonsense!

It does not take a first class law degree to deduce that DPP Edwin San must have. after listening to almost everything the defendant has to say to defend himself, realised that it is difficult to prove that the accused has intended to cause harm to the victim, which is what the DPP has to prove under 4 (1). And so, now he cleverly request to amend the charge to include 4 (2), which states that an accused is assumed to have intended to cause harm, once he fires a gun, unless the accused can convinced the court otherwise!

And the court granted this amendment!!!

What kind of a mother fucker is this Edwin San? Yeah, it is most justified for this Human Battery to call this DPP a mother fucker! Here is a man facing the death penalty -- mind you, not any ordinary charge -- and just when he has almost finished defending himself successfully, this asshole of a DPP shifts the goal post and amends the charge to nail him.

Is this not double jeopardy, except that instead of being charged twice with the same crime, now the man is charged "once" since technically the trial, while about to end, has not ended yet? But that's being technical. For all practicality, the poor accused has been charged twice: once under 4( 1) and now under 4 (2)?

It is a Law of Nature that those who wishes harm upon causes death to others intentionally - nevermind if others are guilty or not -- will not reap the good fruit of a happy long life! Such a person too will have his retribution soon. A cruel painful untimely death, as it turned out in Lai's case!

This Matrix Island used not to allow such last-minute amendments of charges. If memory serves me right, it was that Yong Pung How (or was it Pung Sai?) who ruled that such last-minute amendments are allowed under our law.

It was also he who abolished (or requested parliament to do so) the 3-judge system for capital punishment - he said it is ok for a man's life to be determined by just 1 judge. (Incidentally, under the 3-judge system, Took Leng How would not have been sentenced to death, since there was no unanimous decision among the 3 judges (assuming the 3 of them had heard his case, instead of his appeal)).

Oh, and I believe it was also this shit-man who ruled against spousal privilege - i.e. the privilege that one spouse cannot be forced to testify against the other, concerning confidential communications made during the marriage. The privilege allows us to open our heart to our spouse, without the fear that whatever we say in the bedroom between husband and wife, can one day be used as evidence against us in court. With its abolishment, the court can now compel husband and wife to turn against one another, instead of treating them as one united entity.

Funny thing is, why is this Pung Sai piece of shit still alive and kicking happily? Well, retribution takes time, I believe. But surely it will come, for that's the way Nature works - what goes around comes around.

Oh, and look at how our 146-ranked newspaper's reporter helped us be better Human Batteries. By the way, in many other countries, where citizens are kings and not Human Batteries, double jeopardy (or in this case, a similar version of it) is not allowed. The United States constitution -- which is not changed as frequently as our "constitution" -- contains the following:

Maybe our "constitution" has such a similar clause too? Who knows? Doesnt matter anyway. It's only the "constitution" -- already amended for the umpteenth time by parliament in its short 40 years of history!

Finally, if anybody think this "small" hiccup in our court has nothing to do with us, think again! Even if you did nothing wrong, can you be ever so sure that you and your sons and daughters and father and mother and friends will never, ever, be falsely accused of a crime and be forced to face a capital charge?

And the demand would have to be obeyed by the company, without any protection from the law. No one would dare to upload videos to company. Company will close shop. Now that the Matrix Master has decided to govern behind the scene, we hear bullshits all the time:

Streaming is to help slower pace children to catch up.

The HOPE scheme - where if you sterilise yourself, you will get money from the government to buy a flat - is to help poor people.

and now:

GST increase is to help poor people!

What's the impact of such difference in governing style? Allow me to tell you: the impact is very serious!

It means that the Matrix Master was trusted by his people much more than his son is. Sure, he would lie whenever there was a need to, but generally, he spoke his mind. So while people may not have agreed with the shit he spewed, they trusted him generally. That's why they endured many of his unpopular policies because they trusted his reasoning and believed sincerely that these policies were for their future good (and indeed some of these policies turned out good). Of course, this also meant that whenever he really needed to lie, he could fool the people (since he was trusted much of the time).

Not his son. His son's government lies whether there is a need or not. It lies on a daily basis! This means that people will slowly not support his policies, because people do not trust his reasons (which indeed are mostly false), and do not believe that he has their welfare at heart. Furthermore, even when he is telling the truth, nobody will believe him (since his government is a perpetual liar).

Citizens become skeptical, cynical. They don't trust their leaders anymore! An untrusted government can only go one way: out! You have no ways to implement any policy! You implement unpopular policies -- people do not trust you that they will lead to good results. You implement popular policies -- also no use; people think there are some sinister motives behind them!!

Mark my words: PAP is on its way out, and years later, when political scientists sit in their cozy armchairs and analyse when the turn of tide occured , they will find that it boils down to this: the breakdown of trust, due to the tons of lies that started during Gok Chok Tong's reign and continued by Lee Hsien Loong - probably because the latter thought that such lying is the key to the former's popularity, and not realising that the former's popularity is due to his seemingly amicable mannerism.

In fact, one doesn't even need to be a Ph.D. political scientist to see this. China has gone through 2000 years of dynastic rules and has in store great wisdom about the reason for the rise and fall of rulers. Confucius said long ago:

PTC to allow more premium bus services for niche market

...Premium bus services have to meet the following requirements:

(a) Operate only with air-conditioned buses;

(b) All passengers must have a seat; and

(c) Fares are at least 1.5 times the equivalent fare of basic public transport services.

In other words, even if private bus operators are willing and able to charge less than the government-controlled SBS transit, they will not be allowed to. The Public Transport Council will make sure that there is no real market competition. Making sure that SBS is very profitable is the job of PTC.

And of course as usual, 66.6% are happy with such market monopoly. In fact, the majority of Singaporeans rely on public transport. The majority of Singaporeans also support PAP. Since both sets are majority (over 50%), mathematically speaking, they cannot be in two distinct groups - they must somehow overlap! Therefore, I think one can conclude safely that there exists a sizeable group of singaporeans who both take public transport AND enjoy being screwed and bullied, as far as bus fare and traveling conditions are concerned.

Well, good for them. You get a government that you deserve. There is only so much that The One can do. Ultimately, each person will have to "walk through it" himself.

I predicted that someone will explode publicly. Nope, he did not. He has learnt his lesson well. This time, he did a quiet maneuver behind the scene. This is the "U-turn" news report that appeared the next day:

...Manpower Ministry data shows that 124,000 jobs were created last year and 45 percent of these jobs went to foreigners.

So now, instead of quoting economists, they are quoting the Manpower Ministry. And the manpower people tell them: "hey, it's not 70%, it's 45%"!

Who is right? Well, based on the "NTU professors incident", the discrepancy lies in the economists treating permanent residents (PR) as foreigners, while the ministry regarded PR as non-foreigners, as citizens, as Singaporeans! PR from China/ India/ all over the world = Singaporeans!

WHAT THE FUCK?

The permanent residents of a country are not citizens of that country. They are foreigners! Full Stop!

These are basic definitions. Everywhere all over the world, that's the case! But no, on this unique Matrix Island, PR and citizens are lumped together as "resident population" by the Department of Statistics - if you plough through their statistics, you will no longer see any breakdown into citizens and PR. What does this mean?

Two things.

Firstly, it means that we have been downgraded and treated -- for all intent and purpose, when doing statiscal planning and projections -- as the same as permanent residents!! As far as the Matrix Master (MM) is concerned, there is no distinction between PR and citizens. PR = resident population = Citizens.

This is a cheapening of citizenship and a downgrade. Simple as that. No ifs, no buts. Not only was this guy talking cock, he had also come up with some cock policies to support his bullshit!

Secondly, it means we are mere Human Batteries. If we were citizens aka the bosses of a country, we should be able to have unhindered access to basic information about our country - for example: how many citizens and how many PR are there on this Island? But no, even for such basic data, we have no access! The only data you can get is the "(combined) resident population (of both citizens and PR)" versus the population of "foreigners (who have no permanent residency status)".

The worst thing is that those words in brackets are added by me. The Matrix Masters won't even bother to explain to us their subtle - and erroneous - definition of "foreigners" if we don't question them!

Information is the key to liberty. Without access to information, we do not know the true picture and we become controllable Human Batteries, at the mercy of those who has privy to information.

Middle class wages have been stagnant in the past 5 years, according to economists, and this could lead to social instability. These concerns were shared at the annual Institute of Policy Studies Singapore Perspectives conference...

123, 000 jobs were created last year and economists estimate some 70 percent of these jobs went to foreigners.

"With the rate of immigration even among unskilled and semi skilled labour (Eh, I thought every foreigner is a talent. Not meh?) at a rate twice of what we experienced in the 90s, at a rate fastest in the developed world, the question is does this dampen our real wages as we grow? Does the strategy itself dampen real wages and depress real wages at the low and middle end of the spectrums? They are sacred cows but we should step back and think about them," said Yeoh Lam Keong, Vice President, Economic Society of Singapore.

This is old news. A few years ago, two NTU Economics Professors reached an even grimmer conclusion -- I think they said 90% of the jobs went to foreigners. They were chided by Manpower Minister Ng Eng Hen, forced to retract their report and to apologise publicly.

But, other than the strong words, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) did not publish was incapable of publishing their own data side-by-side the Professors' data and of pointing out how the "error" occurred - the two professors defended that their conclusion was based on MOM's data!

Well, this time round, is the Manpower Minister going to explode again?

Doesn't really matter. He can explode all he wants. Chinese saying: paper cannot hide fire. Even if you censor the entire internet, people can still scribble the truth using just a low-tech marker:

One of the many jokes he spewed is that hawker centre cleaners must double the number of tables they clean (But how? He did not bother to explain. One can only assume he thought these cleaners were very lazy and not working hard enough). In return, he said they may get higher income.

Low waged workers must make quantum leap in productivity to move ahead

To improve productivity in Singapore in the years ahead, Deputy Secretary-General of the NTUC, Lim Swee Say has said there are two ways to do so.

One is for Singapore to be cheaper and better than its competitors and the other is to make a quantum leap in the productivity of low waged workers.

But this does not mean a small percentage in productivity but a 50 to even 100 percent increase.

Mr Lim said this may translate to higher incomes for these workers too.

One key area that will help in this effort is job recreation and redesigning jobs for example of hawker centre cleaners.

Instead of supporting a small number of stalls, by doubling their support, they also double their productivity.

Mr Lim made the observations when he was speaking to members of the Singapore Productivity Association Dinner Friday night. - CNA /dt

Mr. Lim seemed to think that humans are like machines. If he wanted to double productivity, all he needed to do is to turn a knob from "medium" to "high"! That's a frightening thought, but not a surprising one.
